Hello.
My name is Al (VikingMan). I haven't been on in a long time, not since the pandemic slammed us.
I read recently that Thailand now requires foreigners to have health insurance if they're going to be visiting Thailand. I think it mentioned a minimum US$100,000 policy. Not sure if this is true for someone who wants to move to Thailand. I want to study the Thail language, and, hopefully meet a nice lady to marry. Can't I just buy a Thai health insurance policy once I'm there? As a US veteran, I get totally free and complete health insurance here in the states, meaning that if I need something serious done, I would just book a quick flight to Guam where there is a VA facility, or to Hawaii that has a large VA hospital with all services. Also, because I'm on small VA disability pension that is no where near enough to qualify for a retirement visa. Any suggestions, just in case it takes a while to 'meet' a lady? I'm a bit confused with all of this, especially since the pandemic has added a few more wrinkles to the whole process. It's certainly different than when I was there back in the 80's. Any help and info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Al
