I can appreciate that a agent bribe can be efficient, but it's still money chuckin' at problem that shouldn't need it. You get sick of being shaken down. Like with a biz visa for indo... the fee itself, then the service fee just to get the telex, then you go the embassy, and they want the first fee again, and think wait a minute... but you haven't got the time, so either way, you're getting shaken down. I had a purpose in going to CW, which was to talk to people behind the desks and get some first-hand info, rather than just relying on the tw@ts at ToyVisa.

Aceh is a very hard line Islamic outpost. Keeps pushing for independence. A non Muslim might visit for research purposes, but apart from that ....

Retirement Akita’s is much simpler and straightforward. Probably cheaper too. Compared to Thailand, where the same process gets harder every year due to official incompetence, the Indo system seems to get easier.

BOY you couldn't have picked a worse time to show up out at C/W.
BOTH Section J (30 day extensions for tourist visa holders) and section K (30 day extensions for 30 day visa exempt entry holders and emergency extensions for VOA holders) are almost ghost towns until about 10-10:30..
I was there last thursday (like I am most every thursday) and when I was walking out at 9AM there were 10 people sitting in Section K.
Remember TOURISTS as a rule don't get up early. They get up LATE. So if you're on a 30 day visa exempt entry or a 60 day tourist visa entry and you want a 30 day extension get there at 9AM, (right after the people who queued up to get in the door early get in. You'll be out by 9:30-10 for sure.

One would think (or not) that having spent the years in thailand you have that you would know things like this (or not). BUT hey at least you do now..

AND FWIW; the chinese (and foreigners) who can't get flights out AND who have a letter from their consulate stating such now get 30 day extensions (or they did as of last thursday)
