    You can get a 12 month multi-entry visa based on marriage without showing any funds in Savannakhet.

    You will only be granted 90 days stay in Thailand when you enter, then you will need to do a border run, and get the next 90 days when you re-enter. Doing the final 90 days the day before the 12 month visa is up will obviously give you the bones of 15 months stay (with 90 day in/out border runs every 90 days). Non-O Multi-Entry cost: 5,000thb.

    Though I suspect that you're on about an annual (12 month) Extension of Temporary Stay based on marriage from your local immigration office.

    For that you arrive, typically on a single-entry Non O based on marriage, then get the 12 month extension at the local immigration office. Then report every 90 days. The finances you mentioned are what's typically needed, but for you and everyone else's sake, go there and have a chat with with them about exactly what is needed. That's the best advice you can get.

    Ask the office girl which TIO will make the decision and smile.

    Ask the identified TIO your question. Write it down in front of him/her and note his/her name/number.

    Ask the TIO if you can take a photo of you both together.

    Don't for get say "thank you" and smile.

    As the 400,000 THB is in your bank to ensure you have enough cash, in Thailand, to support you and your family for a year, logically it should reduce during the year.

    However ask the TIO the same question, and don't forget to smile.

    Thailand is advertised around the world as the "Land of Smiles" after all.

    Unrelated to baht requirements, but a mate on his first 1 year retirement extension left and returned to LoS a few days before it expired and on arrival at the airport received a free no quibble 1 year extension from the expiry date of his current extension.

    I think I brought this up either on another thread or offline, and learned that the 2nd extension on arrival is normal on a first retirement extension.

    Certainly more useful than Ohno's unfathomable attempts at what appears to be humour.

    Dont know why nobody gave you a direct response but;
    2 months prior and unlike the retirement extension, ur allowed to take it ALL out the day after you get the extension!!

    BS: he was NOT on a extension, he was on a 1 year, multiple entry visa issued outside Thailand.

    Yep you're right, point was that it was on his original visa (not extension).
