Old to new passport with Non O marriage visa

I got a new passport because my old one has less than 5 months left, Can I get my non o marriage visa transferred into my new passport at the border say ....Nongkhai?

I didn't realize that my 90 days are up tomorrow so I need to do a border run, what happens if I leave on the 3rd?.....pay 500 baht fine?

I'm looking for cheap flights for tomorrow as well, I guess if I get there early enough I can have everything transferred to my new passport at the airport.

    Any advice?

    Yes, change at the border.

They will stamp the new passport and document the change.

    Normal.

Shouldn't be any big deal unless you're a Fluke multi.

Thanks Luigi, appreciate the quick response just in a bit of a flap cos I thought I had another week to do this.

If I end up getting the train and arriving at Nongkhai on the 3rd instead of the 2nd do I just pay a 500 baht fine?

Too late to catch the overnight now

Depends on the official...if you say you're late do to scheduling problems it might be ok. Just be polite and don't get upset if they do charge you for overstay.

^^ Could be okay. Could be that your Non-O visa is revoked/cancelled. Then you'll get a 30 day Visa Exemption stamp when coming back in.

Overstaying on PoTS isn't the same as being a day late on a 90 day report while on an Extension, the visa will typically be cancelled, and the person has to pay the OS fine and gets a 30 day VE when coming back in.

    Permission of Temporary Stay.

It's the 15/30/60/90 day stamp (depending on your visa) you get when you enter Thailand.

It allows you to stay in Thailand for that period.

If you overstay that, they typically cancel your visa. You have to pay the overstay fine, leave, then come back in on a 30 Visa Exemption stamp as the visa has been cancelled.

Don't know whether they change the stamps at the border crossing itself in Nong Khai or send you to immigration which is fairly close but keep this in mind and make sure you arrive in office hours. I had the same situation years ago in Mukdahan IIRC and was sent to the immigration office (which was only a 10 minute walk away) but I'd got there at 6/7am so had to wait for it to open . The officers were brilliant there and actually let me in and gave me coffee before they had officially opened.Obviously in your case you don't want to be too late.

just had a look and they are ,according to google , open 7 days a week from 6am - 10pm so your good.

I had the same situation at the Kanchanaburi border less than a year ago.

Rocked up at the border and presented my old and new passport. I showed the IO the multi non-O visa in my old passport and all was good. He then stamped in and out in my new passport.

That being said, as Thailand is Thailand, then different borders/IO's might have different ways of doing things.
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

Well, I flew out of Bangkok and they did nothing to my new passport!
They stamped the exit stamp in my old passport.
I paused outside the immigration office after having passed through the immigration counter and showed one of the IO officers because I couldn't find any stamp in my new passport. They took my passport and conferred with some others at another counter while checking their computer. They gave me my passport back, still nothing!

I have to think that surely they know what they're doing, right?

I entered Laos on my new passport but showing my old passport as well, he seemed to understand when I explained "marriage visa". So, I will go back and hope that they will understand that I'm on this non O visa when I get to Bangkok.

Rereading everyones posts kinda confirms what I'm thinking, they've noted it on their computer system and I'll just get stamped in on my new passport tomorrow.
