And there we have it, life's way too short to be fucking around doing anything you don't want to if a few bob in the right pocket can take those situations out of the equation.

Having the opportunity to do so and eliminate almost all inconveniences, especially when it comes to dealing with local bureaucracy, is surely one of the best perks of living in this part if the world (in my opinion).

I'm not sure why you'd have trouble getting the right sized photos in Thailand. There are photoshops everywhere in Thailand where they'll take your photograph and print a set of pics for you. Just tell them the size you want and how many you want and they'll print them for you after taking your photograph. All done in under an hour and for a modest fee.

I agree. I can't fathom why they wouldn't just get a visa that would allow them to get an extension of stay for a year instead. Fuck leaving the country every 90 days.

Of course, for foreigners who spend the majority of the year outside the kingdom, that kind of visa might be a reasonable option.

^ Pre Covid I survived for 15 years on multiple entry Non Os based on marriage to a Thai national. Due to my work rotations I only had to do a specific border run twice in all that time and the annual visa renewals made for a nice excuse for a trip to Singapore.

Covid changed all that and I had my first dealings with the local immigration office last year... and never again. Their inflexibility made my position impossible. I agree completely with HW and it took me around six months to start using an agent (and thanks for the contact... you know who you are). OK, so it costs but I'll never again lose hours queuing up and then being treated like some kind of desperate asylum seeker when all I wanted to do was live with and support my wife and daughter, while maintaining a full-time job

Well if you travel a lot and you are not looking to get your PR anytime soon, it makes sense and is by far less stressful. I figure I have been to a dozen places around Asia I might not have seen if I did the extensions.

Literally the same as me, I even had a couple of businesses here and never had anything other than a non-immi multiple entry. Luckily during covid, my immi office seems to be on-top of things and willing to help and get things right the first time round.

I had to book the appointment within the 40 days,(could not book earlier) I got photo copies yesterday of all pages of both passports old and new, copies of all bank book pages, copies of last 90 day and the arrival card, a quad pack of very hansom passport photos of yours truly. Still have just under 900,000 baht in the bank been over 800,000 for over the last 3 months, Kept it over 800,000 for 3 months after the last extension in Jan 2021 and in fact did not under the 800 until August, but only for a couple of weeks, I just didnt want to fall trap for any new rules.
I will update how it all goes on Thursday or Friday 6 OR 7 Jan 2022, In the meantime have a great NewYear and take care.

ps, mine is a Non Imm O. Retirement.
All done and dusted, This time they really pushed about the TM30 I don't have, (because my wife has been out of country i couldn't get one done), The Immigration officer did one on her own and got my Thai friend to sign off on it, She said something about me having a yellow book that I must have got it done when we applied for it,anyway,it's stapled into my passport now.
Got there early around 10:30 and out at 12:00, the appointment was for 1:30 but thought would just pop in and see how it goes.
She even changed the the 90 day report date from Feb 8 to April 5, was a nice surprise. All in all a good day.
