CR1 Visa to US for wife in 2 1/2 months

It took just 2 1/2 months from USCIS filing to receiving visa in the mail for us to get my wife's CR1 visa to live and work in the US. I've heard a lot of horror stories but our experience was anything but. Off to live in Monroe, WA outside Seattle in about 2 months.

    Excellent news.
Locally here in Oz I’ve heard of two Thai women being granted permanent residence visas within a few weeks of applying for them (whilst on temporary residence visas).
One application was allegedly incomplete ...

We did but my wife did a really great job getting information from a US Immigration group online for Thais. The only glitch was that when they sent the interview letter it was for the wrong date, a Sunday. We alerted them to their mistake and they got her in immediately for an interview since she had already traveled to Bangkok from Surin.

The Embassy is working for you! How refreshing, others should take heed.

We can't complete our plans for leaving.
We have cared for my wife's grandson since he was two months old. He just turned 5. His parents are real duds who haven't the means or the desire to take care of him. We love him dearly. Now we are frustrated at every turn trying to get him some kind of visa to travel with us. A grandchild cannot follow with a CR2. We tried to get a visa by having legal custody granted but were refused. USCIS suggested going for an education visa. Private elementary schools in the Seattle area that are certified cost $26,000 per year for tuition. Adoption takes years and means separation during the process. Simply cannot find a way out of this dilemma.
