    Married visa extension

I currently hold a multi entry, Non Immigrant 'O' Visa.
I understand that an extension based on marriage requires an income of 40,000 baht/month.
I have heard that savings of 40,000 baht is also acceptable.
Can anyone tell me if this is true please.

    Regards
    Jaiyenyen

It is 40,000 baht per month. Savings do not apply anymore.

Can you get an affidavit from your consulate as you would for a retirement visa?

I used a two year old letter from the British Embassy
declaring what my State Pension is, just a week or so ago in Pattaya. But I am told by a mate that as from 1st Oct I will have to get a new letter each year costing 1500bht to renew my retirement visa. Can anyone confirm this?

^ This is exactly the same as what I have been told.
I know of one person who has been refused a retirement extension because his pension letter is three years old.

The only person who can confirm it is the interviewing officier

    But what a stupid rule.
The letter states that you have a pension for life and it cannot be cancelled but imigration want a new identical letter each year

My letter that I used last month is 3 years old and they never said anything about it and said nothiong about getting a new one next year, but if I have to, I will have to be in CM on what ever day it is that the consulate is open to get it notorized.

I spoke with Immigration today regarding the pension letter and they confirm it has to be no more than 6 months old. Mine was written March 17 so I have to go to C Mai tomorrow and pay 2448 Baht for a new letter at the British Consul. They can only accept cash.....we only have two people working here.

    fifty quid for a letter.

I'd pay someone to forge the original and change the date if I knew someone who could do it.

I currently have an application in for an extension of marriage visa based on 400K minimum in the bank. Application lodged 6th September, will see if it's OK at the end of this week.
If they start insisting on 40K per month income (I live off investment income) I will seriously consider moving to Cambodia.

If it's typed and not handwritten, then it's a piece if piss. I'll do it for you for only 2447 Baht.

MtD you are generous to a fault

PM me urgently to save me money and I will buy you beers in the best bar nearest the consulate.
It's not the money its the principle, isn't that what tightasses always say.

It'll be a 3+ hour drive for me. Last time I went by bus, got shitfaced at a friends place in the afternoon on wine, and nearly got expelled from the VIP bus going home.
    I know how to behave

Typewritten , but with one of those fancy embossed imprinted braille type seals in the paper.

The embossing will be difficult best give it to Nooners.
He can cut it out with a stanley knife and glue it into the new one

That's buggered it then, unless you can tamper with the original one.
