    Legalising UK marriage certificate

Hi, i have a non o visa based on marriage, i have 5 weeks left till expiry. My plan is to extend for one year. I have an English marriage certificate that I need to translate. I have been told i need to get the certificate legalised back inthe UK. I have the link with the process already. I understand that i send it to the uk office, then they send it to the Thai Embassy. What i need to know is how do i get it back from the Thai Emassy in the Uk to my address in Thailand? People have suggested using friends or family in the UK to help, I don’t have anymore that can do it that end. Does anybody know any couriers here that will sort out all of the legs of the journey? I need the certificate to get to Milton Keynes then the Thai Embassy, then back to Thailand. Also a rough price and time frame for the whole process. Cheers, any help will be much appreciated.

I very much doubt the Thai embassy will be arsed to do much for you, you probably do need someone you trust to physically go and get it, and then send it... I'm not sure any courier would want to get into all that, they just want to turn up, pick up the ready item, and go.

You'll just have to crack on and do it. You can print out label with postage paid on most carriers (UPS or DHL will collect and drop off). Will be pricey and take a few weeks (less if you chuck money at it), and once you have done it it is done for ever. No dodging it though. I know it's not what you want to hear. The pricey part will be the FEDEX bill. That consulate in London will be VERY used to this - a daily occurrence for them. Call them up and ask them how they prefer to do it - with a prepaid label on the envelope, they can call up a pick up, or you can. Call them though.
