With less than 6 months on your passport, I don't think you will get any extensions or new visas. If you can get passport ID card over night, do it tomorrow.

my embassy can give a passport overnight, however i need a valid ID card for that, which i dont have, i need to wait 6-8 weeks for the ID card then i can get the passport overnight.
it's a european ID card i cannot use it here anyways why make me wait?

    That's a handy rule.

Lemme guess, you also need a passport valid for at least 6 months to renew the ID card.

    Nannystate tossers.

I'd apply for my ID card pronto, might take less time to arrive.

Other than that and waiting, fookin' off to Cambodia for a few months might be the best option. If they left Dodgy Dillinger in there.....

Okay, despite every website in the world stating it, there is no 6 month validity on your passport rule for ANYTHING to do with thailand EXCEPT when you buy a visa from a thai consulate. <- That's when you need at least 6 months on your passport.

If you are entering the country on a visa exempt entry all you need os your passport to be valid at least until the date you'd be stamped in for.

It's the same with extensions of stays. As long as your passport is valid at least until the end of the extension you are applying for you'll get it. Otherwise all you can get is an extension until the passport expires.

You should be fine getting the 60 day "visit family" extension, renewing your i/d card and passport then running to a thai consulate to get another Non-O visa.
