Thai Consulate Ho Chi Minh City Non-O based on marriage

For a LONG time the only thai consulate in the area that would issue a year-long, multi-entry Non-O based on marriage to a thai with NO financial proof was the one in Savannakhet

An acquaintance recently went to the thai consulate in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Vietnam and got a year-long, multi-entry Non-O without financial proof either.

They require the same documentation that Savannakhet requires.

The visa is $200USD there (they don't take baht and they don't take dong)..

Just wanted to let you people know was all..

Good to know .It may suit some .Savannakhet charge B5,000 ,but $200 is around B7,000 .Do they do it in one day in Saigon ? Savannakhet takes two days .

Nope, same as most consulates. Turn in your application/passport in the morning one day pick up your passport with the visa the next afternoon.

Do you have to pay for the Vietnamese Visa upon entry? I think the Laos one is about 1,500thb.

Google is your friend on whether you buy a visa on arrival when you should up in Vietnam or whether you need to buy that "invitation to get a visa on arrival" letter before you show up.

And remember IF you go to Ho Chi Minh City the thai consulate there ONLY take US dollars..

    So you don't know?

If it is free to enter Vietnam, the increased cost of the Thai visa would almost balance out to cost of the Thai visa in Savannakhet + Laos Visa to enter Laos.

No Minty, it's not that I don't know,
    BUT
I'm kind of of the mind if you're gonna slog all the way to Vietnam to get a visa for thailand that google is your friend and you should do due dilligence BEFORE you wing your way there.

I have a very limited skill-set and it's that I know where to get visas for thailand. How people get into the countries to go to the thai consulates there is on them..
