Oh so cambodian or laos is almost the same price for the visa.
I will be located in Chiang Mai , and burma is the closest border but if i could avoid to have to spend a night over there that would be good, i will check about it later.

Kuala lumpur will be an option once sannavakhet will change their policies. I will look for it.

My quote above was my response to his enquiry about Savannakhet and financial requirements.

But do someone know why actually Savannakhet is like this ? I really hope they wont change it soon, i need that visa for few years before can save 400K.

Actually i get the meaning of his sentence but i didnt get why he said this.
Because i did ask about the 3 months excursion but i did ask also about the visa it self.
Sav dont ask any bank statement and let's hope they keep in this way the time i reach them.

For Burma you can only get a one-day pass/visa at the border. It means you have to return the same day you entered. To stay longer you would have to apply for a proper visa from an embassy or consulate.

At the Burmese immigration (at Mae Sot) they ask if you're going into town or going back straight away to Thailand.

If you want to go into the town of Myawaddy then I think they give you a small stamp-like visa along with an entry stamp. If you tell them you're going straight back to Thailand then they'll stamp you in and out. Then you just cross back over the bridge and get stamped back into Thailand for another 90 days.

I think it's the same at Mae Sai crossing in Chiang Rai.

Oh really? That good so, i will check what is the more easy for me to go, i went near mae sai before it was not so far from chiang mai. I dont want to stay there, i want just to cross and come back so if they allow it that perfect !

The latest news coming from another forum, is that Savannakhet are now asking for proof of B20,000 in the bank as well as a return bus or plane ticket and details of accommodation in Thailand i.e. hotel or rental agreement.

^ I saw that. I reckon they're just trying to stem the flood of Lao applicants who are clamoring for the free tourist visa.
They probably made up 75% of the very long queue when I was there a few weeks back.

Did you get a multi O spouse, if so any problems, I'm in OZ and was going to get a O spouse here, but things appear to have changed.

Melbourne no longer does spouse visas, everything needs to go to Canberra and the documents need to include a bank statement OZ, return plane tickets and a 21 days processing time.

Surely that's for the tourist visa. This thread is about Non-Imm 'O' visas.

Quite right.

It'd be interesting to see if you could include the 5,000 fee for the Non Im Multi in the financial reckoning if they did want 20,000.

Just an update, in Savannakhet as of today they still don't require ANY financial proof to issue you a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on marriage to a thai national.
