I've heard savannahkets a better bet these days, Ive never had to get one here it's always been 1 year business visas, but I've taken colleagues to the Thai embassy and some days the punters are stretching a mile down the footpath waiting for the embassy to open and that's at 6.30 in the morningWTF? There are several fixers hanging around who can speed up the process for a fee though, I think either way you do it its a 2 day job, Look me up for a beer if you come though
The lazy bastard won't swim over to Mukdahan BB
You can't get double entry Thai visas anywhere anymore. There's a 6 month multi entry you can get from your own country now but you have to leave every 60 days; I dunno if you can extend it for another 30 days for 1900 baht. Todd will be along soon to let you know
He could have got another 30 days here in Thailand
Not what he was looking at, been living here for 18 years, W/Ps and spouse extensions, got divorced.
Income generated in Thailand, but falls outside the W/P scheme, house etc, and he didn't want to get marred again just for a visa.
Long story, but rock and a hard place comes to mind.
Thanks for the responses, guys...
Haven't made the trip for years, but I have always enjoyed Vientiane...
I remember using the touts to do the paperwork and picking up the finished product the next day, so I expect the 2-day plan, which is fine with me...I used to stay on the river at the same hotel...Second time there, I was offered everything from ganja to women before I'd even made it to my room...
Met one of the staff later in the evening and ended up at a Laos-style party which was much fun...Offered the same hospitality to a few who wished to see Bangkok...
So, 60 day visa is standard?...And then extend for another 30 if necessary?...That sounds like the same as years ago...
Funny how they had limited offers on the double-entry visas back then...I happened to be offered one when I didn't really need it, but took it anyway and was good for half a year, leaving the country after the first extension...
Thanks for the kind offer, BLD...Just might take you up on that...
