Non Immigrant O Multi-entry Yangon Myanmar

Has anyone tried to apply for a Non O in Yangon. On their website they advertise that they can issue such a visa, however I have emailed them but have not had a response.

    Nope.

    Do keep us updated though.

Most people go to Savannahket, Laos to get one (based on marriage, no proof of funds required).

Would be great if Yangon became visa friendly, most people are probably tiring of Laos at this stage.

I work in Myanmar, it would make sense for me to try here. I will phone them tomorrow to sound them out.
On their web site it states that they require the normal documents, e.g. valid passport, 2 photos, completed application form Certificate of Marriage and the fee of $80.
    I will keep you posted.

It is my experience that most thai embassies/consulates and indeed even immigrations offices inside the country have sketchy information at best...

The O/P should call 'em.. I know several people who've pulled single entry 90 day ED visas there for studying thai (but their schools get all the paperwork from the MOE).

I wouldn't imagine the thai embassy in Burma is over-run with foreigners. In googling around, real honest to goodness news about the ease or difficulty of getting visas from them are thin on the ground.

Let us know what they say,

I should imagine they will adopt the same policy that prevailed in Phnom Penh for so long which, as most here will know, was somewhat less than helpful and a clear message that it was not a visa issuing post on par with, say, Penang.

Just made a call to the Embassy in Yangon, informed them that I was a British National working in Myanmar and that I want a new Non O multi entry based on marriage, the reply was no problem, completed visa form original marriage certificate two photos and $80, collect morning of the following day.
This must be worth a try since I am here anyway.

    The price seems wonky.

Year long multi-entry Non-O (or really any Non visa) are 5000baht.. That's about $145US at the conversion rate they use at embassies.

Single entry Non what ever visas are 2000 baht $60US

Make sure you're getting a year long, multi-entry Non-O, not a single entry 90 day one...
