Exactly right Todd, and this is what I have done for the past 5 years. Like I said before, I obtain my 1 year multiple entry Non-Immigrant O Visa from the Los Angeles Thai Consulate each year when I do my home visit. I do my final border-bounce just prior to that drop dead date which gives me an additional 90 days past that date for a total of 15 months. Simple.

Even though this example is from Savannakhet it's the same type.. You can see it was issued on 28 Oct 2014 and has an ENTER BEFORE date of 27 Oct 2015. That is the drop dead date.

To pull 15 months outta your visa you need to "run-4-the-border" or "border-bounce" BEFORE that date.. I read a report of someone bouncing on the exact date and they were refused because it says ENTER BEFORE, not enter by this day.

    Good Luck...
I have a feeling that's not the picture you meant to post, Tod.

Neverna; am I missing something or are you takin' the piss?

Is it displaying a different image than I can see? It's NOT my visa, I just ripped the pic off the inter-web as an example..

It's a visa from Savannakhet, it's a Non-Immigrant, Type-O, Multi Entry, year long for 5000baht. I primarily wanted to show people the Enter Before date on the third line down on the left of the visa.

I read reports all the time where people don't pay attention to that date.

    OFF TOPIC;

Some acquaintance forgot to apply for his yearly extension of stay based on being 'old' before it expired. In reality he was on a 30 day overstay when he contacted me..

I had forewarned him that he'd broken the chain of extensions and most likely would hafta pay the overstay, get a 7 day 'get outta dodge' extension, border bounce, get a 30 day visa exempt, apply for a new Non-O, then apply for a yearly extension after that..

On a fluke when I took him out to Chaengwattana, I'd also prepared all the documentation to apply for another yearly extension of stay, but I didn't know what would happen seeing as his current extension had expired.

I explained his predicament to the officer and she let him pay a 15,500 baht overstay penalty, get the overstay stamp in his passport, THEN apply for another year's extension of stay right after that!

Truth be told, f I hadn't had seen it actually work with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it! Those officers have a TON of latitude as far as what they can do IF they want to.

    No it's not

I assume that the wording is Indonesian
Google translate has the main sentence as '100% Newborns were small and dainty'

Yes it did on your original post and the one above. Neverna's post still shows the bizarre Indonesian graphic

A thing some will know, others not, when doing your border bounce, I was losing a page/leaf for every Lao visa.
If you ask, sometimes pay 30 Bt, they will back to back, use both sides of the page for the Lao visa
Now I know they will stamp the visa on any blank page in the passport, but it gets confusing when you run out of pages on one side and they start again on another blank page at the beginning.

Been standing in the Thai immigration side while the guy has to search your passport looking for your latest Lao visa.
Passport seems to last longer, everything is in chronological order and you don't lose pages.

    What a palava

Got the vip bus from Bangkok, fukkin thing took 12 hours to get to Mukdahan, then the bus we waited half an hour for frigged off and left us at Laos immigration whilst I filled out all the blasted forms.

By that time it had gone 11 and the consulate was shut, so headed to the Sevan Vegas, joined the casino and got the room for 1000 baht as advised on here. The pizza was shit btw I won all that back in the casino whilst drinking there free beer though

Got up today and realised I'd forgot the bastard original wedding certificates, got to the consulate to be told it's closed tomorrow, but thank Fock they are gonna do it all today and they also never asked for originals or a letter from wife that I saw mentioned on here.

So Alls good and I'm off to pick up my passport at 4 then get out of this shit hole of a town.

On another note, saw a guy going nuts because they don't issue double entry visas anymore. I'm sure he mentioned a 6 month one for 5000 baht so maybe that's the new visa, I will look when I go back.

    Greetings from Laos

Wish you wankers were here, (rather than me)

    I didn't notice any ho's

Not many of the staff can speak English.

The room was ok for 1000 baht, needs a refurb though, only tried room service that once.

Got my visa now, so won't need to go back for nearly 15 months.

Hopefully someone will give Burma the thumbs up

Lao girls work this side of the border, most bar girl where I am, are Lao, not seen bar girls or bars in Sav.
Savanahket is one of the last places on the bucket list, it's pretty well closed at sun down.
Never been to the casino, no interest, no decent food, no real bars and expensive compared to here.
Place is so boring that they don't even bother with police, never seen cops on patrol, nothing ever seems to happen.
Thought life was slow here in my part of Issan, but border area of Lao, the clock doesn't have batteries.

Sheesh Dillinger, for someone who seems to have at least 'half-a-clue" you didn't put much time into checking on things did you?

A brief google of thai/lao holidays woulda showed you what was what..

You're lucky they didn't hold your passport until Monday! That woulda run you off the rails...

AFAIK, not a single foreigner (who doesn't have P/R or live legally in Lao PDR) has pulled a METV (six month multi-entry Tourist Visa) from either Savannakhet or Vientiane. However there are reports that they are easy to come by in the country where your passport comes from or where you hold P/R status.

Still, glad it worked out. You're set for another 15 months..

I saw a roadblock there yesterday, where they were pulling over every mo-cy without a helmet. They don't look very threatening in those tan uniforms though.

I was gonna go Sunday night, but got sloshed the weekend. If the bus driver didn't fuck about I would have made it in time.

I got a photo of the tourist visa requirements, yep you are quite right Tod.

It's a bummer that really good bus company Nakhon Chai Air doesn't go to Mukdahan.. They rock!

You coulda taken it to Nakhon Phanom and then got a mini van to the Indochine Market right by the Mukdahan border, but the time points are still close to make it work right.

While I was derided on here for advocating people pull your Lao visa BEFORE showing up at the border, I just had someone do exactly that! They skated thru, were across the bridge, done with the consulate and camping out at the guest house pretty darned quick!

Agreed. If I would have done that I would have made it.

I'm 500 metres from the Indochina market now and getting the Nok air bus to Ubon airport at 3.30pm. I think i land in Bangkok at around 8pm.

^Is that the Nok Air Fly-N-Ride dealy?

Both Nok and Air Asia offer a program like that. From looking at the flight times and travel time it seemed like the time points weren't the best to a quick turn around using them both ways..

There used to be two brothels in Mukdahan, staffed with young(18-25) year old Lao ladies, more than willing to go back to your hotel for a mere 1000.Baht pay after services rendered. The slow life of that area appeals to me for some reason. I'm sure they have UBC and Internet so the fact the sidewalks are rolled up at dark doesn't really matter. You have good TV, Internet, and a couple good brothels. Good food in Mukdahan as well, right on the street near the full service hospital, plus a border right there and the casino and Thai consulate less than 30 min away. Things and life could be much worse mate.

Just a heads up for you guys doing the Mukdahan Run. The " Riverfront " Hotel is directly opposite the Market and excellent value. I always stay here when passing through on road trips.

Great rooms with breakfast for under 1 K. Perfect base. The river view rooms are brilliant, around 1500 Bht or so. Mukdahan is a top spot of one has wheels to get around.

Looks like you just throw your shit everywhere? Thanks for the tip.

Did you notice if that high rise hotel was finished and open? It was the same family as the Ploy Palace, a really nice looking hotel but not complete and open my last visit, about a year ago.

    Cheers.
