Motorbike visa run but red plates?

I have a Honda Wave and plan to do a visa run on it..
It's registered to my name, I have a Thai drivers license but red plates.

it's been close to 2 months and I plan on visiting them on Monday but I am not sure if I will have them before the date I need to do the visa run.

I do not have the green/blue book or the sticker (apparently all comes with the plates)

It needs to be done on the next 2 weeks and I have in my passport a double entry tourist visa.. with that being said, I wonder where would be the best options for me to do so (maybe road conditions.. difference in prices etc)

if i can get to the border.. would this be the worst case scenario: i would have to leave my bike on the thai side until i come back?

    grr. red plates.

Strange, Honda Wave's don't usually come with red plates

quite possible, but i've seen plenty of them in the parking downstairs and it's definitely what was on mine (new Wave 125i)

Get the Bus. How far are you going to travel to do this visa run,how many hours riding will it take on what is essentially a run around bike, not suitable for long runs.

I am on a double entry tourist visa, I will get automatic 60 days and extend to 90 days.

however, even without it, I am Canadian I would still get 30 days as they started giving land arrivals 30 days for all G7 countries since November 1st I believe.

    googled "Thailand 30 days G7"

"From the 1st November 2013, a new change came into effect ordered by the Royal Thai Immigration Office. The change will see passport holders from one of the G7 countries receiving 30 days permission to stay in Thailand when entering the country by land. Previously, they would receive 15 days by land, and the usual 30 when entering by air.

The G7 countries are: UK, USA, Japan, Germany, France, Canada and Italy. Other countries whose citizens normally receive 30 days upon entry by land are: Mongolia, Laos, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, and Russia."

read it like yesterday.. it's great news
