So I'm waiting to go to work in Gabon next month. I finished a 60 day extension today and I decided I'd fly to Laos and get another 30 days. Spent the day hanging around Vientiane eating decent French food and farting. I get on the plane happy out I should make it home for 23.30, job well done. I get off the plane, I'm not racing. I have no luggage, I can take my time. Stroll up to immigration, result, it's empty. I don't even have to queue up. I hand in my passport and arrival card and wait for my picture to be taken and get stamped in. The bird starts flicking through my passport. I've got a business passport that is full of visas' from Russia, The middle East and South East Asian countries. She say's "why you in Lao today" [sic]. I said "to get my thirty days, I'm waiting on a job" She says "why you come Thailand? [sic] I said "To stay with my family" I'm starting to get a bit ruffled at this stage and I switch to Thai and ask what the problem is, She then say I should have a marriage visa if I have a family and that I can't leave Thailand in one day and come back. I've been in and out for fifteen years and I've never heard this. She kept on flicking through my passport. Then I said "can you call your supervisor please". She say's no I am dealing with this. I must say then I started getting loud and the supervisor appeared. He took at look at my passport and told her to stamp my in. She fucking ignores him and keeps on shuffling through my passport. My pressure relief valve finally lifts. I ask her 'If I go to Poipet in the morning can I get another fifteen days? "Yes you can" she says. "So what is the difference of flying to Lao and getting thirty days?" I'm proper fucking ranting at this stage. The supervisor is telling her " stamp it stamp it.. She then says " I want to know why you were in Lao for a day and what you were doing. I shout at here "I went to smoke a cigarette because I'm a big fat rich Farang". She pounds my my passport with the stamp and shouts at me to get in.
What an absolute BITCH.

So why was you in Laos for the day?

Small victory for you, but it helps a wee bit...Can't stand those power-hungry fcking losers, in any country, especially USofA...

Her English was very good. You should have complemented her on her English.

But seriously this was 10 mins plus of shuffling through the passport.

Immigration pretty much has you by the balls (if you are a man), no matter what country you are entering. They have the power to say no at any time and I have seen it done many times to non-US citizens when entering through US immigration.

Count your blessings if you have a US passport when you fly home.

it's easy for me to sit here and type that now, airports really stress me out to be honest, especially after queing at understaffed booths, then being interrogated by some power tripped jumped up fock who decides I'm gonna be their tea break from stamping for the next 20 minutes

It was empty. That's what freaked me out. Crap end to a great day. I should been stamped straight away and out. Instead I ended up with a queue behind me and a easily avoidable embarrassing situation.

I know you're correct but I know this time I was right. She was just being a bitch. If there was a thousand people queued up she wouldn't have batted an eyelid.

If you dont mind me asking Rebbu, how were you dressed today ?

I've sussed out they never bother me in a shirt and trousers, but try and join that priorirty lane with a pair of cargo shorts and flip flops and theyre soon over and not believing I used the boarding pass as a coaster for the champagne

Mate I only ever dress in proper clothes when I travel. I had a shirt and long pants on today and I never had a drink. Since I've got home I've slaughtered a half bottle of 285.
