    300 Baht "Exit Stamp"

I had time to visit a friend in Surin. He had to do his Visa business and he asked me to go with him to O-Smach. I know of the routine already- so i warned him: They will ask you for 300 Baht to leave Cambo- and then threaten you- saying that u stay here or u pay.

The "Official" who stamps your passport will ask you for 300 Baht as an "Exit Fee".

I stayed within ear-shot of all of this (on the Thai side of the border), and said to the "Official" "There is no need or law to pay 300 Baht to exit here and go about our way"- That drew the attention of other customers and he knew he was out of luck (pocketing money/mia noi/etc), so he stamped my friend out very fast.

Bottom Line: UPDATE- They still ask for 300 Baht "Exit Stamp". Don't Pay It- It's not legal, and the "Official" behind the desk knows this- it' money in his pocket. The more people know about this the better.

I had a experience in chongmek(laos) a few years ago, filled in the visa app, went to pay money however much it was a i think the guy asked for another 200 baht, i asked what it was for, and got told to enter the country, no i said i pay visa price, he then spoke with my wife, and she informed that if i didn't pay, maybe i would not get in, well as you imagine i paid

Was that at the airport? Never had a ploplem at the airport paying $20, but at the Koh Kong crossing they've been extorting 1000 bt from 10 years ago, and were still at it 5 years ago which was my last overland trip. Can't see much being allowed to change on such a great earner, though a friend mentioned they upped it to 1100 for some holiday or festival.

Nope it was Aranyaprathet land crossing. They ended up getting me for the couple hundred baht I saved with the 20$ deal when I forgot my exit stamp. Had to go back and there was a line of at least 50 smelly sweaty bastards, guy told me 200 baht to go to the front of the line. Then when I went back to enter Thailand the lady at the desk let me skip back to the front of a very long line

That may have been 3 years ago now because I've had marriage visa for two years now.
I foking hate Cambodia... True shithole.

At the Had Lek border they only ask for that if you are spending less than 24 hrs in Cambo.
