    Long term Visa options

Ive been in Thailand for three years , on tourist Visas and 15 day VESs .
I now need to get myself on a long term status .
Im under retirement age and I dont have a business here .
I cannot get married to a Thai .
My gf has a baby on the way .
My gf doesnt have full Thai I.D.
Can I use the baby to get a long term Visa , carer Visa or whateever its called , type O?
    What are my options ?

I think your pretty much S.O.L. No business sponsor, employment by Thai or Ferang Company in Thailand, not eligible for retirement visa...I can't think of anything that qualifies you for long term/1 year visa.

Seems like you are doomed to the max. 90 day things if and when you can get them.

They ve clamped down on the 60 day Visas .
Only giving you a certain amount ,I dont know what that amount is though .
I currently have 1 double entry tourist Visa in my passport, and theres a good chance that they wont give me another one .

    No.

If your gf does not have a proper Thai ID then she cannot register the birth of the kid as a Thai.

Trying to use the kid could bring a lot of unwelcome attention.

Whatever happened to the extension based on support of a Thai child? I recall doing it in 2006/7. No show of money.

what about a visa to study in Thailand?

On another note, someone I know had a hilltribe gf,who had a baby. She had no Thai I.D. He married her in the village and 5 years later, still cant get her a visa because of no Thai I.D. He travels back and forward from the UK every year, but because he`s in his 20`s,he got no chance of a long-term visa.

You still can get them, 400,000 in the bank for one day, no need to prove where the money comes from, BUT and there's always a but.
Last year, nice immigration chief, no problem, happy to help.
This year new Chief, NO, only if separated/ divorced from wife and have custody of child/children from the court.
No rule change, just different interpretation.

Fluke, only thing I can think of is a Thai language course, believe you can get 2 year courses.
I guess becoming a monk is not on your to do list. Jim

"Category "O" To visit Thai spouse, children, parents or voluntary job."

Just seen this on the Thai embassy website in London.
If the Child gets registered as Thai , I should be able to get one of those

The child will not be Thai as neither the father is and the mother apparently is not either.

But how are you going to do that? The mother does not have a Thai ID. Birth cannot be registered. Unless you ask a Thai to put his name down on the birth certificate as the father, in which case you would be ineligible to claim 'supporting child' as a visa reason.

Or purchase a used Elite Card, that will entitle you to a one year visa? Renewable every year for as long as you own the card. Expensive but it's a solution to your dilemma.

    Retirement visa is your option
It's a complicated, expensive, and bureaucratic option....
    Many old-hands don't find the resident non-imm "O" or "B" comfortable.

One can easily do a 6-month cycle [2-month check in] without all the bullshit involved with a retirement or marriage type visa.

The child can obtain a UK passport. Take it, and the missus, back to the UK. Claim benefit and live happy ever after. Seriously, just go to the UK.
