    Extension problem in Udon

Well the fuckers got me in the end, went in yesterday for for my annual marrigae extention, photographs, marrige cert photo of me and kids on the bed, all the ducks lined up, or so I thought.
My applicatation was complete, they tried every obstacle the could, need a new letter bank letter, ect. even the garrantor needs his tabian baan and ID card? WTF for?

He's only my kids school driver. Luckily he happened to have these papers on him.
THEN i could see from the look on my wifes face, there was a problem,
She asked Do you have your Divorce papers?, fuck me I was divorced 30 yrs ago, do they think I carry around a 30 yr old certificate with me?
Lucky I brought the dragon with me, she can deal with these fuckwits and remain calm somehow.

Beats me how, I would bend the bitch over the table and batter her to death,
I know what she means, but as I explained I have got the extionsion for 15 yrs, and Its never been asked for before. one would think was A benifit scrounger, but no! been here for beer here for 3 yrs and no assistane from the Govmt, paid out over 1 mill baht for 30 yrs PA. not working.
There can’t be good living where there is not good drinking

It's a lot less pain to rat hole 800K in the bank than to deal with all that shit.

Quite common now for them to do this and to try and arrive at a scenario where they know you will have to leave the country. Then they start talking about how much it costs for a ticket to your home country and the problem can be fixed for a little less than that.

These are the fucking idiots that create the problems you are experiencing.

I cringe when I read on here the "take the village headman a nice bottle of whisky" type posts.

Give these fuckers nothing, absolutely nothing.

That said, they can have the steam from my shite.

Doesn't one have to show that to get a marriage certificate?

But again see how the system works? One could have slipped the marriage certificate guy a wad to overlook that then.....

If you are able to 'extract' at some point the 800K from overseas to a Thai bank, it might make life easier. Interest rate is an anemic 2.75% from Bangkok Bank these days but at least it's something.

Can I ask a question BM ? if I am on a retirement visa do I qualify for interest in my BKK bank account ?

If so 2.75% is fantastic compared to the 0.5% available everywhere in the UK

There is an easier way, my dragon bless her,got a Over draft with the goverment bank, can draw down 200K to keep the family in food and meantime incubate my 400 K in the bank for a further 3 months, in the meantime I live on the Goverment loan to satisfy immigration.
something poetic about living in Govt money for awhile.

    Of course.

All Thai banks take out the tax automatically so in the end you get somewhat less than the advertised rate.

These are typically 8-12 month certificates of deposit.

As well they may deserve, however without the correct paperwork, (and we all know that requirement varies,) you do not pass go and do not collect $200.

I have learned that no matter how stupid the request is or not required by statutes, the responsibility always turns to the ferang to satisfy the requests of the Thai interrogator.

I now after several experiences somewhat like yours have learned to smile, back away from any and all form of confrontation. I ask for the specifics of the request, making it clear that my intentions are to satisfy said request. which I do so regardless of the insanity of the request.

    WTF its only time?

it's not really about being a tight ass, it's more about not licking their balls when there is no need.

Recently I had a run in with immo, they didn't want to give me an extension based on working.
They wanted me to pay 20k bribe, instead I went to Loas and got a multi O and will do visa runs.

Seeing how we were employing Thai people to make up the numbers for the visa extension requirement, a few locals lost their jobs.

From everything I've been told by friends that deal with Chang Wattana it's more professional down there. More English-speaking Immigration Officers.

The Immigration Office I report to in Ayutthaya is a mixed-bag. Some friendly and some not particularly helpful.

Fair play imo. No doubt it isn't their fault that the boobs in Immigration can't find their ass with both hands. Obviously you didn't need the extra pairs of hands?

I can surely empathise with you Peter.
I went down the marriage road a few times over the years.
Last few years I've been doing the retirement method.
I was there last week. In and out in 11 minutes!
I once spent a full day in there jumping fookin' hoops.

At days end what the fuck do they want ? I am not a drain on society, I am bring up two girls at no expense to the state, I bring in a small but regular amount each year to support me and family.

So now they have to bring up stupid rules that some retard has dreamt up to make it more difficult to stay here.
They really are a stupid race.
