Only got a 60 day stamp on my non-imm O visa....

Just checked my passport and found that the muppet at Surat Thani has only stamped 60 days on my non-imm O visa. Yes, i should have checked but after lining up for over 90 minutes with 2 small kids my main thought was to get the fcuk out of there.
I have tried calling Khon Kaen immigration but no one answers the phone (no surprise there) i can not get there until Friday and was wanting to ask the following:

    1) Will Khon Kaen immigration see the mistake and add the other 30 days onto my visa?
    2) Can i pay for a 30 day extensions on this visa?
    3) Have a dirty few days away while getting a new non-imm O?

    Cheers

They will fix it for you. But be more careful next time. You did get home with both kids right?

Always but alwys even when you are stressed check the dates they have stamped into your passport before leaving the booth. If they have messed up then they can fix it there and then without any hassle or worry. Happened twice to me now.

Years ago, I flew into BKK after several flight delays and nearly 36 hours of travel. I was wiped out. I arrived, showed the immi officer my 90 day visa that I had obtained in the US and he stamped on another page and gave me 30 days. To be honest, I never checked until it was close to when I had to cross to Cambodia on a Visa run. I then realized I had overstayed some 55 days. I went to the border and gave them a bit of tea money and they did some writing in my passport and then I did my border crossing and they gave me another 90 days.

I had a friend that had something similar and he ended up in the immi jail and paid over 20k baht in fines

I know these situations are both different, but the poin is, it depends on what immi officer you approach and how is feeling when you approach him.

I am going on Friday and will post back what happens,

    Thanks again TD friends.

Thanks for getting back to your question. This is actually the way the place is supposed to work.
Not a worry one mate, but do it quickly, one less thing to think about.

    Alrighty,

What a complete ballache today was with Khon Kaen Immigration... Got there nice and early, waited my turn and when it was my turn i gave a nice wai to the old ballsack sitting behind the desk.
I explained in my best Thai (pretty good after living here on and off for the past 9 years) that Thai Immigration at Surat Thani airport had mistakenly stamp me for 60 days and not the 90 days and asked if he would kindly sort out the problem... His grunted reply was 'YOU GO SURAT AND CHANGE' as i then explained that it was Thai Immigration and they should easily be able to change the date came the reply 'YOU GO SURAT' ok... Can you call Surat Thani you old wrinkled ballsack? 'YOU GO SURAT THANI' so i said thank you very much and fucked off home.
Got home and toyed with the idea of a drive to Surat to fix it, but the thought of over 2200km round trip didnt seem such a great idea.
So the wife called Surat Thani Immigration and they said Khon Kaen should easily change it for you..... they asked me to fax the passport page and visa page to them to double check. They called back within 2 minutes admitting the error and said they would change the date in the computer and i have to take another trip to Khon Kaen immigration to sort out the stamp.... okay another trip there...
Got there and was meet by the old saggy ballsack face smiling, he said sorry and fix the stamp date within 2 minutes... he said to come back on the 15th October and see him personally for the 1 year extension...
All in all a pain in the arse BUT just typical useless Thai male goverment workers....

    Thanks again my TD friends.

Power has gone to his head cause you Wai-ed him. Cut down on the Wais to people that provide a service. Even Thais don't Wai them. As someone said on Stickmans Guide
Rule Number 1. Never wai anyone.

Well done. I had a similar experience with Pattya. Swampy stamped me for 30 instead of 90.

Immi in Patters response; " got to Swampy"

"But if I go to Swampy will they fix it ?"

    " I don't know!"

" Ok, can i fix it here?"

    "Maybe"

    "how much?"

    "1,900"

    " you're joking?"

" No, go to Swampy and they can fix it for you, maybe....."

    Time out......................

1,900 baht and about 3 minutes later it was all fixed.

He smiles at me. I smile at him.

    Done and dusted.

As an addendum, whilst having a smoke outside I watched him splitting the money with his mate.

    No worries.

As with getting stopped by a policeman. Have 2 wallets. One with a minimal amount in and one with your spending money. When it comes to paying a sweetener you produce the one with the minimal in, shrug your shoulders, and let them see your skint. They'll take the minimal amount if they think that's all you've got.
Death is natures way of telling you to slow down.

I agree with Superman,, he probably thought you were taking the piss.

What you did would probably be the equivalent of going the passport office back in Blighty and undoing the clerks zipper whilst licking your lips.

    Just saying like :-)
