    The Aussie embassies are a bloody rort. They need to do something about that.

    Yep, and an Indo born child.

    Getting them both Irish passports was far easier.

    hey mate how did you go with immigration? did you travel alone or with your misses?
    if not what kind of documentation did the immigration require to let your kid go with you? thanks if you can answer im in a similar situation now.

    In practise, most people find you don't need any extra paperwork to travel with your child on your own. However, there's always the chance that the day you don't have it you might need a letter from your wife 'giving permission/acknowledging' that she knows your traveling on your own and that you're not kidnapping your child.
