I lived in Thailand for 3 1/2 years but left in 2017. Can we still do visa runs? I know they tightened restrictions after the king passed.

At the moment, No.
Hi all, and thanks. I see they are supposed to open Phuket on July 1 for vaccinated foreigners. It looks like a 90 day visa with at least one extension. Does anyone know any more?
Well, no matter what visa or non-visa you choose, you can not leave Thailand and then re-enter again without doing quarantine in bangkok or taking part in the phuket sandbox (which requires that you pay for 14 days in a SHA+ hotel the whole time and can not leave phuket until you've passed three covid tests)
All travelers to Korea must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued within 72 hours of their departure. There is also a mandatory 14-day quarantine upon entry for most travelers. Only those who have been vaccinated in Korea and whose vaccinations are registered in the Korean health care system may be eligible for active monitoring in lieu of quarantine at the discretion of Korean authorities at the point of entry. Beginning July 1, 2021, limited categories of vaccinated travelers may apply for a quarantine exemption certificate at an overseas Korean Embassy or Consulate
Sorry for the colour, cut and pasted from Korean/us embassy
Also I think if you came in as a tourist you would get 60 days, 30 extra days 1900B. There could also be covid amnesty when your time is up but difficult to count on that.
I don't know enough about visas because of my work I traveled in and out Of Thailand over the years often enough not to have to worry about that, now that I am retired and married , an extension to stay is my solution.
As everyone has said, border runs are out of the question right now because of the quarantine requirement upon return, so that's a non starter at this time, if I remember correctly, even when it become available again you can only do so many per year(I think 2) so I am not sure if that's a long term solution for staying in the Kingdome also .
Some one please correct me if I am wrong.
IMO other long term solutions must be found.
Those with more experience than me in the issue , can provide better advise for long term visa options, but I dont think visa runs even when they become available again will be a long term solution..
Good luck ,and welcome to the forum.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.
