    Your info is plain wrong.

International schools mandate MAs and prefer employee-applicants to be British and under the age of 40. There are, typically, 300-400 qualified candidates per job.

    Go figure...........
Completely false. The International School game is absolutely nothing like the ESL game. Apples and oranges. I have been on the Intl. circuit for a while now and the basic qualifications for teaching at an Intl. school are:
    -BA or higher in Education
-Full teacher certification from an accredited state/province
-In many cases 2 or more years of teaching experience

Your statement about applicants having to be preferably British is utter bollocks. At my last teaching assignment there were teachers from the Americas, Africa, Aussies, Kiwis, Koreans, Thais, and other nationalities as well. The Intl. teaching circuit is for highly trained professional teachers.
The ESL circuit is in many cases, but certainly not all, for those people wanting to travel, experience new culture and earn some cash in the process but certainly doesn't attract formally trained educators.

Siam computer are renowned for the inability of their managers one of whom is computer illiterate. The rest are nothing but egomaniacs strutting around on their own personal power crusade

Their use of unqualified staff working illegally on education and tourist visa's in government schools yet again short changes the victims of Siam Computer, both teacher and student wise. Said staff are supplied with worthless crap material and expected to "teach" classes of 45 plus for 50 minutes a day those students in the main have a level of spoken English ability at around kindergarten 1 level. The level of both reading and writing skills is non existent.

The latest excuse trick from Siam Computer is the failing to pay teaching staff for holidays due to the current flooding situation this is of course tied along with the lack of proper co-ordination between Siam Computer management and the schools they contract to.

The deals are sweet for Siam Computer, 2 million baht a year fee for a school. Salary paid to 3 teachers over an 10 month period amounts to 1.140.000 Baht Take out the cost of the crap resource books at around 45,000 baht total and a handsome profit margin for the year of around 750,000.baht.

Now multiply that by all the contracts that Siam hold and indeed it is a goldmine.

Nothing wrong with the profit motive, it is after all a business, however the treatment of the staff is like the slave master system of old.

In short it is a cowboy outfit run by wannabee sexperts who are complete egomaniacs.

It's better to have the clap than work for SIAM COMPUTER, as you can cure the clap

    Siam Computer.

The post refers to but one school, multiply that by the amount of schools they have, some bigger some smaller, and indeed you see a ''goldmine'' worked on the back of innocents abroad.
