I seem to remember something about short term contracts creeping in, where instead of hiring full time teachers the dept of education would instead switch to hiring short term contracts that don't include pension benefits and whatever. Sounds pretty shitty really.

That is very shitty. What are people supposed to pay their mortgage and car payments with for 2 months, the stolen erasers they need to eat for dinner?
About 15 weeks according to my calendar. But I am very hungover so it's all a bit blurry.

Sounds alright that. Especially with Thailand as a base. I'll definitely be suggesting 1-2 years traveling the world then a PGCE for the kid post-grad.

Thinking back around 15 years I was friends of a friend with a CELTA trainer in BKK. Pretty sure he said he did 3 x 1 month courses then 1 month off paid.

Which if me fingers are correct also equates to around 3 months off per year.

    Lazy gits.

They'll have to slum it in the UK for a couple of years otherwise they'll have to share a staffroom with the likes of me.

If she mysteriously gets banned from the water dispenser for a few hours she'll know who she's working with.
