I found the CELTA fun because I was in Bangkok, but also quite boring (grammar assignments galore). I would never do the DELTA after the CELTA.
You learn best in practice, so it was good that the CELTA had a practicum part where I got to teach Thais and Cambodians English.

20k,30k or even if you’ve hit ‘the heights of a sweet’ 55k or 75k per month deal you’re not kidding anyone, regardless of how pedantic you or Armstrong want to be about the actual value of a minimum wage ‘teacher’ job.

*not all TEFLrs are scroungers and grifters, but a heck of a lot are. The ‘industry’ attracts a certain type, particularly in SE.Asia and only a bloody minded fool will disagree with that.

Just last week I meet one of these types in a bar. Didn’t buy one beer, but somehow had drinks all night. At about 2:00am I saw him sweeping someone else’s table to collect the inch of beer in left over cans or bottles.

I'm surprised bars are closing so late in Malaysia 'post COVID' , and it must have been a bit rough if they're serving beer in cans.
