He's probably still young enough to join the French Foreign Legion.

Apparently there's no age limit with the legion.

You've just gotta pass the fitness tests.

I know someone who joined at 39.

Not really, real life and super fit.
Had something to prove after the regular army turned him down.
Did the minimum five years and enjoyed every minute of it.

Got a frog passport out of it and learned French.

The maximum age limit is 39.5.

French Foreign Legion Age Requirements | French Foreign Legion Information

The minimum age limit for joining the Foreign Legion is 17 years and 6 months. That means you have to be 17 years, 6 months and 0 days old at minimum when you are knocking on the Legion’s gate. If you are not 18 years old and older, parental consent or consent of your legal tutor (if you are an orphan for example) is required on a form available in French Gendarmeries in France, or in French Embassies outside France.

The maximum age limit for joining the Foreign Legion is 39 years and 6 months. That means you have to be 39 years, 6 months and 0 days old at the maximum when you are knocking on the Legion’s gate. These are the only age requirements for enlistment in the Legion.

Things are still improving, albeit rather slowly.
Gave grade 1 a summery test, they mostly got Cs with some Bs and a couple of As- came out with an average of 71%. Way more importantly they are now able to do group activities without starting a tag team wrestling match and are learning collaboratively. My second graders surprised me with some decent mostly independent poems, still want to work on their behavior, but they are now able to work in groups- shame it is not as good as grade 1- so much drama over nonsense 555

Sounds like you're getting there, and to my mind, quite quickly, all things considered. You must be very good at what you do. Stick with it and the satisfaction of knowing you've done well with teaching kids will be with you.

^That actually reminds me, I need to dig something halfway decent out for the World Teacher's Day banquet tomorrow. At the Shangrila, this school doesn't mess about with ceremonies. Taking a look in the mirror- erm the hijab would be a good look 555. The high AQI or cold is making my nose grow, I swear it.

I'd like to see what morning looks like
Don't wanna drink pint after pint
I wanna wake up without feeling sick
    But I can't cuz I'm a drug-abusing alcoholic

Did discover a Mongolian phrase this weekend " treat your child as a king before five, like a slave after five and as a friend after fifteen"- a lot of things fall into place, I certainly see elements of it played out.
