^^ Jeff you don't have a fuckin clue what he 'remains to this day'.
^Yeah, he will have meant the red that he sent marcus to be a green.
I went to see The Wedding Present with Bangkok Phil last year, top bloke is Phil. Boggles the mind that I hadn't met him in person before then at any point...but he is, for the most part, hermetic so there's that. He does come across a solid fellow. Seems to have aged pretty damn well, I'll say that too.
LDMA does manage an FB page about Thailand TEFL, that's about it.
I recently requested a digital archive of all my AF forum posts with the thought of doing some kind of corpus analysis thing (unlikely to actually happen). He actually sent it to me.
...thanks for the update, Matt...hope you and Appen are doing well...
Good to hear from ya Matt!
Not bad...we came back in large part for cheaper IVF fertility treatments. We're on a second round now. The failure of the first attempt sent me into a pretty dark depression for a while there. A fucking sweaty depression. Appen, as usual, handled things better.
She's so damn stable as a human it almost drives me nuts.
But I'm now feeling much better and hope the 2nd time's a charm.
Hey, by the way...if any of you guys happen to know of any GOOD jobs available right now in or around Bangkok - please share, will ya?
I've been at Silpakorn Uni in NP city for the last year and while it has had highlights (working with young future Thai English teachers on their 5th year teaching practicums has been one), overall the admin, etc. is driving me a little nuts. e.g. they owe me a lot of money for extra classes (the whole idea of taking a government uni job that THAT salary was I could survive on all the extras) for one thing and I just don't trust them with it. Arrgg.
I'm applying to all shades of EP, Satit, international schools, etc. but nothing has hit quite yet. Would be nice to get back to teacher training as well, looking into that...and my dream 'TEFL Bootcamp w/ Matthew' course still hasn't found its angel investors
Cheers for any insider info for a fellow old-timer, eh?
Well it's not BKK but we need 5 teachers for next year in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
There was a bit of a purge, but admin seems to have recovered their toys from outside the pram for now.
Isn't that "the most polluted capital in the world"?
You know where Panhunger is these days?
Yes, on holiday in LA. Still living where he has for the last 15 years or so.
