I taught there briefly before a dispute between the agency and the school.
The conditions at the school were great and the students were quite receptive to learning.
I have no idea of what they are offering salary wise, but if you are a newbie, I'd say go for it.

    Nice post noelbino.

It does seem a bit suspect though if they can't write any relevant info.

I never thought of that, well done!

    Let me guess.

20+ periods a week and other duties.

Paid about ten months of the year.

Accident insurance that isn't up to much.

Help with WP application but they don't actually pay for it.

    anywhere from 28-33 a month.

I could be wrong of course.

Looks like somebody has left pretty soon after they started, care to comment on why or was it just poor selection?

A friend of mine was a Quantity Surveyor, and an agency actually tried to send him for an interview for a job as an UNDERWATER Quantity Surveyor, despite him telling them he'd never done more than snorkel in his life.

"Don't worry about it", they said.....

    Thanks, mate
In fact, papers showing qualification are not that important to us. What counts is a decent teacher. we used to have bad experience with some bad guys from an agecy.
We are about to sign a contract with a gent who dares to apply. He has no degree, no TEFL. He has fine experiene and can create nice atmostphere. We will pay him Baht 40K per month. Our students are waiting for more.

I think some of you are a bit harsh on the OP.
As I stated before I worked there for a short period with the agency he is referring to. With no fault of the school the agency was not able to provide teachers to the school. As stated before in my short time there the students were receptive to learning and presented NO discipline problems, unlike some of the rabble here in Bangkok.
Put yourself in the position of the OP. It's now nearly 3 months into the first term and through no fault of his own his students DON'T have a teacher.
35,000 to 40.000 Baht a month is above the rate paid here in Bangkok by most agencies. Maybe his desperation to provide teachers to his students comes out in his statements.
Give him a break and if you know of anyone willing to teach there, let them know.
Some of you need to get off your high horses and react with equanimity.

I worked at Uthai Thani before and I know that most schools in the vicinity ( including NS ) like to change their teachers at the end of every semester. The truth is I used to know a guy who worked at the school the OP is trying to recruit for for several years.

I could go for the job, but I'd like to be near my daughter. Also, there's no guarantee that I'd be working there for as long as I've worked at me present school ( 7 yrs ). I need a change, but I'd do that at a private school.

To the OP: What happened to "Madam S" who monopolised recruiting of teachers in the whole area.

RE: Teaching as a TEFL Teacher

    Dear Sir!
I was led to understand that the salary was USD 1500 tops!
Plus, the requirement for a University Degree is also a must beside
    a TEFL Course!
I do have some teaching experience living in Shanghai as a teaching Volunteer for a year and a an Aircraft Engineer by Profession!
Could you please advise me what would my chances be of becoming
    a TEFL teacher in Thailand!

    appreciate it!

Quite decent for Thailand. A farang (no degree or experience) I know has recently started at a private school in Ubon province- 15k per month. They 'say' it will go up after an ubnspecified probation period. Hmm.

    Hello,

I was going to take a onsite tefl course around $1400 usd.
One is in Portland Oregon & the other in Thailand with ITTT.
What are your thoughts to this...ITTT also has a 140 hour "on-line" class for $495 includes free $195 course for teaching young learners which is 50 hrs. w/ certificate. So I would have two certif.
Now this on-line is supplied w/ 12 hrs. of DVDS of actual viewing
class time. Now I thought instead of cramming all of the 4 weeks on-site class into my head, I could do the on-line at my pace and also later review by watching the DVDS. Now guys, is this any good or what do you think.
I really want to teach and live in Thailand. They said there is no diff between the on-line or on-site certifs.
No the online does not say online on the certif....
    Help!
