There is nothing else to buy but goods manufactured outside America even if one shops locally.

There is not one iota of original thought coming from this "movement" They can not change the system because they don't really know anything about it, and they have no currency with the population at large, the corporate establishment, politicians or anyone else except the 5-10% fringe who are always available to protest about anything. That is a sizable number if you can assemble them but it will never achieve anywhere near the critical mass needed to achieve anything significant. Sorry, but that's the way it is..

Not sure which thread you mean. If it's that endless circular debate over the US system, sorry I pass. The system in the US is a mess. Totally inequatible and 50 years behind the rest of the civilized world. It has been one of the things about America that I have never been able to come to terms with.....such entrenched positions and so much mis-information and posturing.......everybody defending their respective positions to the last drop of blood.

The insurance companies lie, cheat and steal....the doctors lie, cheat and steal, and the patients (via their lawyers) lie, cheat and steal. It should be fixed, but nothing I can possibly say will convince many Americans that a properly structured and funded national plan would solve 90%+ of the problems..... Obamacare is a mess....so is the status quo....what more can I say? Americans have been seriously misled by their own media, medical profession, drug companies and health insurers. Good care is expensive to the point of the ridiculous, and unavailable to so many. Am I sounding a bit Marxist here? bsnub will be along shortly to confirm......

Occupy Wall Street has a benefit album planned with Jackson Browne, Third Eye Blind, Crosby & Nash, Devo, Lucinda Williams and even some of those drummers who kept an incessant beat at Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park.
Participants in the protest movement said Wednesday that “Occupy This Album,” which will be available sometime this winter, will also feature DJ Logic, Ladytron, Warren Haynes, Toots and the Maytals, Mike Limbaud, Aeroplane Pageant, Yo La Tengo and others.
Activist filmmaker Michael Moore is also planning to sing.
Jason Samel, a musician who is putting together the disc, said the goal is to raise between $1 million and $2 million to help fuel the movement that is protesting income disparity…

Fair comment, but there again, if people only bought what they needed instead of what they wanted.....we would probably still be living at about the level of 11th century England. What would all those Chinese do if we did not buy plastic crap and cheap underwear? We are throwing out perfectly good TV's because they are not flatscreens or HD LED's. In fact I'm considering dumping my 2 year old LCD because it's not as big as my next door neighbours...and I like the new generation LED's better. The idea of living 11th Century style holds no appeal whatsoever So you see, I am making my personal contribution to your standard of living......I hope ya'all appreciate it....
