^Not so sure much will change but signals are there. First time in a while (if ever) a President has said Israel has to step up and make real progress in meeting it's obligations if there is ever to be peace in the region.

I saw and heard the whole speech by Obama in Egypt this morning. Just a speech, IMO. I don't take speeches by President's too seriously.

Nothing groundbreaking, and Israel isn't going to leave the West Bank (which BO did not ask for) and there will NOT be a 2 state solution, which BO advocated.

Nothing new.

I agree that it is possible to criticize the State of Israel without being an anti-Semite; from what I read here and in similar threads over on Ajarn, it's not very common though.

I personally think that a good 2 state solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict as it expresses itself in the Palestinian case would be to give Kuwait to the Palestinians. It would only be just, considering the Kuwaiti "ethnic-cleansing" of some 350.000 Palestinians after GW got their "country" back for them back in the 90s.

I really don't understand how anyone can argue about UN resolution this and International Law that regarding a region of the world whose political reality has been nothing more than an invention of Treaties and Resolutions and seat-of-your-pants improvisation by Europe and America since the Turks lost their Empire and started the long crawl to join Europe.

Israel has the power that it has and the friends that it has. It also has the land that it has. People, especially the Palestinians, need to recognize this, and get over it.

Agree 100%. And what they say is, "Israel has the power that it has and the friends that it has. It also has the land that it has. People, especially the Palestinians, need to recognize this, and get over it".

So, let's pretend your a Palestinian from, say...Jerusalem. Old City. Prime. Home in the family for generations. Friends have good farmland, too. Lots of water in the West Bank...best farmland in the territory. So somebody shows up at your doorstep and says "...this house is mine, God gave it to me". Say he had the power to take it from you. Would you move to Kuwait and get over it. My bet is you'd be looking for justice and the nearest International Court etc. Or would you sit back with your chin up and say "Well...Might Makes Right after all."

^No. I'd probably move into a squalid refugee camp with my wife and kids and parents and parents-in-law and wait for justice... for 60 years. They do say all things cometh to he who waits; I'm not sure who "they" are, but it sounds about right to me.

Jews should be allowed to kill Muslims Arabs because of what Hitler did 65 years ago. Todays Zionists are no better than Hitler in the atrocities and war crimes they are committing under the umbrella of protection from USA.

Hitler was desperately looking for a country to ship the ousted German Jews off to, but no country including USA would have them. So he stuck them in big intern camps aka concentration camps. The cost of maintaining these camps during time of war became too high, even using them for slave labour. In the absence of any place that would accept the Jewish outcasts the Germans came up with the "final solution". Mass extermination of the Jews was never Hitlers first priority, he just wanted the lot of them out of his domain. After WW2, since no country really wanted too many Jews in their country it was decided to create a new country for them. Returning the Jews to their promised land of Israel was the wests own final solution.

Throughout history, even before biblical times, the Jews have always been the ruthless financial exploiters of other cultures and religions. Such is the reason they have come to be scorned as a breed apart inside cultures within which they co-exist and exploit.

Now USA has a Jewish minority of about 6 million out of a population of over 300 million. Yet the Jews are hugely over represented in politics, finance, the media and industry to the point that they virtually control the country. And the other 295 million Americans haven't figured it out yet. Kind of makes their war of independence look like a waste of time.

Anyone who points this out is immediately labeled and ostracised as an anti-semitic Nazi sympathizer.

^So, really, the "final solution" was caused by "other countries", especially (of course) the US, and Hitler and the Germans were more or less forced into it.

And the decision to create a "new country" for the Jews was made after WWII because no countries wanted Jews. I guess the Balfour Declaration, customarily dated around 1917, is a forgery.
