Odd statement from someone defending the attack on the cartoonist by Muslims...

So who is bigoted in this scenario, the cartoonist who by his legal right was expressing himself, or the Muslims who attacked him for doing so??? Seems to me the Muslims are the ones displaying hate & bigotry by not accepting another person's point of view... Whether they agree with it or not...

Of course, had this taken place in a Muslim country, the cartoonist would have most definitely been killed where he stood... Had he lasted long enough to be arrested, he would have lost his head to boot...

Question Willy... Are you really so bored that you have to invent multiple nics and troll online forums searching for confrontations???
I'm not defending the attack. I believe I mentioned the extremists who do this sort of thing are worth about the same as the racist idiot that tried (sadly successfully) to open divisions and start a hate trail.
Are these attackers bad news - YES. I have zero support for them and have no wish to defend them at all. That in no way says I have any support for a racist pillock trying to do the same things but using a different tactic to achieve his goal.

Neither the extremists who attacked or the cartoonist have the right to do what they do. Both are out to hate and that is clearly wrong.

I missed the earlier 'monkey boy' assuming it was just an attempt at a racist slur and intending to mention later than I'm a white bloke. Now I see you think I'm KW.
Try again. I did have an earlier ID on this forum but had forgotten about it when I signed up using my usual screen name.
That account may well still be live but I cut off the hotmail address I was using for forums at that time. I do intend to check it later but won't be bothering with that old account that was used for not more that 10 posts.

Back to the guilt trip. Up to you what you feel and what needs you have.
Personally I'll stick to being nice to people regardless of who or what they are.
    Lower blood pressure dear chap.
Be happy dudes. It's a lot more fun than crying.

Yes but Muslims have a little more right to defend their religion than say Christians.

Why is it that it's basically "open season" on Christians but we have to treat Islam with kid gloves?

What makes Islam more important that you can rationalize the religious terrorism practiced by fundamentalist Muslims?

There is no justification for any religious terrorism regardless of if it is fought with words or actions.
That is exactly the same as there is no justification for extreme right wing terrorism that is exactly the same but aiming at a different target.

I can see there are problems with some Muslims. Frankly it would be better if all the extremists got up one morning, got hit by a fucking great bolt of lightning and snuffed it.
Even better if the strike burnt a fucking big message into the earth telling everyone to stop being a bastard in his name.
Bigot. Love it. Some of you guys want to hate a group or groups because of a single issue while I say I don't give a flying fuck what colour, religion or whatever anyone is but decide on an individual basis as meet people or read of what they do.

Now why do you guys think I'm banana breath?
We are both in Indonesia but I think he's in Jakarta (I'll stand an arse fucking on that one because I may be wrong) but I think you will see from my many photos I'm in a small city.
    Try again girlies.

^ Again, why are synagogues and Judaism banned in most Muslim countries?

An intelligent reply from a Muslim on the matter would be welcomed.

It's not because of a single issue, the muslims crate tons of problems everyday, everywhere they migrate. And if they are not all extremists they support the extremists by their silence.

    Last news:

STOCKHOLM — Police say the home of a Swedish artist whose drawing of the Prophet Muhammad offended Muslims has been subjected to a suspected arson attack.
Lars Vilks, from Nyhamnslage in southern Sweden, was not at home during the attack and no injuries have been reported.
According to police reports, attackers smashed windows and left plastic bottles filled with gasoline behind them. A small fire broke out, but is thought to have fizzled out by itself. There were no suspects.
Vilks did not immediately answer phone calls Saturday seeking comment.
Vilks has been subject to several threats since his 2007 sketch of Muhammad, including from al-Qaida. Earlier this week he was assaulted by a man while giving a lecture at a university.
What a chance for Europe all these migrant cockroaches.

Another muslim-bashing thread. Shouldn't there be laws protecting the mentally challenged from attack?

Isn't this exactly what they are agitating for.... mmmmm. At least give credit where credit is due, they are admitting that they are morons who cannot argue their manic beliefs in a logical manner.

    Akhii ENT,

As far as I know only Saudi Arabia prohibits the building of churches or synagogues.

Why, you may ask? Because it is the center and birth place of Islam and they don't want any competition. Plus, the Saudi form of Islam, Wahhabism, is a backward thinking cesspool of fukwits.

"Most" Islamic countries do not have such laws.

Even here where I am an English teacher in Tehran, the center of the Evil Empire, we have many synagogues.

Yes, I've heard of the Iranian Jews, a diminishing number only a few thousand if that.
Egypt has some tolerance too, and Lebanon.

I'm not aware of any laws/edicts against Xtian or Jewish worshipers in the Koran.
    I could be wrong.

Q: Why do muslims who hate the West and its customs so much immigrate here? They seem so undesirous to assimilate. I don't mind some older women who are quite sweet when I see them at the fruit shop, altho I would want to meet them in a dark alley and I know my tax dollars are paying their keep.

As for Islamic art, there is much and it is beautiful. The geometric patterns and designs are stunning, as is the superb architecture.

OK, my nice comments for the day.

^ Because Islam is a missionary religion exercised in the early days as caliphates, jurisdicial and economic centres at trade posts in the early Gulf trade.

'Jihad Jane' Colleen LaRose gets 10 years in prison

LaRose told a court she had thought about violent action morning and night

    Related Stories

A US woman who joined a plot to kill a Swedish artist whose cartoon offended Muslims has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Colleen LaRose, 50, who dubbed herself Jihad Jane, admitted in 2011 she sought to kill Lars Vilks and recruited others to the cause.

She faced up to a life term but a judge reduced her sentence in part because she co-operated with investigators.

"I don't want to be into jihad no more," LaRose said at the hearing.

Mr Vilks was targeted after he drew a cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad as a dog. Islamist militants in Iraq offered a $100,000 (£61,000) reward for his death, but Mr Vilks was never attacked.

    'Nothing to gain'

LaRose was found to have conspired to kill in a foreign country as well as provide material support to terrorists, along with attempted identify theft and making false statements.

Prosecutors acknowledged LaRose co-operated with authorities after her arrest, but had urged the judge to sentence her to decades in prison, claiming she remained dangerous.

LaRose and fellow conspirators "recruited men on the internet to wage violent jihad in South Asia and Europe and recruited women on the internet who had passports and the ability to travel to and around Europe in support of violent jihad", according to an FBI statement on Monday.

LaRose travelled to the Republic of Ireland to plot the murder with an extremist group, but left after six weeks.

Assistant US Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams told the court that LaRose had only departed as she "grew frustrated because her co-conspirators were not ready for action".
From my point of view there is nothing to gain from putting her behind bars” - Lars Vilks LaRose's intended target
LaRose's lawyer Mark Wilson argued the Pennsylvania woman had come to understand the peaceful tenets of Islam and said "there's virtually no chance that she would ever be involved in violent jihad ever again".

LaRose, who has already spent four years in prison, told a judge on Monday she had become obsessed with violent action in 2009, thinking about it from morning to night "in a trance".

Speaking before the sentencing, Mr Vilks told BBC he believed LaRose could be set free.

"I don't think she's dangerous anymore because now everything is [out in the open] and I don't think she's able to do anything more that could be dangerous," he said.

"From my point of view there is nothing to gain from putting her behind bars."

But prosecutors argued a heavy sentence was needed to deter others.

"If you plot to kill someone, you are going to receive decades behind bars - decades - even if you co-operate," Ms Williams said.

US Attorney Zane David Memeger said the case "clearly underscores the evolving nature of the terrorist threat we now face in this country".

Two other alleged participants in the plot, Jamie Paulin Ramirez and Mohammad Hassan Khalid, are also scheduled to be sentenced this week

Muhammad cartoonist Lars Vilks reportedly dies in car crash

Authorities investigating crash that is said to have killed Swedish artist, who lived under police protection since 2007, and two officers

The Swedish artist Lars Vilks – who has lived under police protection since his 2007 sketch caricaturing the prophet Muhammad brought death threats – has died in a car crash, according to multiple Swedish media reports.

The newspaper Dagens Nyheter said the artist’s partner confirmed his death, and the Swedish news agency TT said police had confirmed that Vilks, 75, was travelling in the car with two police officers, who also died. According to police, a civilian police car and a truck collided and caught fire on Sunday afternoon outside Markaryd. The truck driver was taken to hospital, and the cause of the collision was under investigation.

In 2015, Vilks’s presence was a central feature of the Copenhagen terror attacks: he was the star speaker at a free speech event at a cafe where an Islamist gunman opened fire, killing a film director and wounding three police before going to a synagogue and killing a volunteer guard.

National Police Chief Anders Thornberg said: “It is with dismay and great sadness that I received the news that our two colleagues and our security person died this afternoon. My thoughts go to relatives, families, friends and co-workers.”

Stefan Sintéus, head of the regional investigation unit responsible for personal protection in the region, said: “This is an extremely tragic event. Now it is important for all of us that we do everything we can to find out what happened at the site and what caused the collision.”

Vilks was largely unknown outside Sweden before his drawing, which depicted the prophet Muhammad’s head on the body of a dog. At home, he was best known for building a sculpture made of driftwood in a nature reserve in southern Sweden without permission, triggering a lengthy legal battle. He was fined, but the seaside sculpture – a jumble of wood nailed together in chaotic fashion – draws tens of thousands of visitors a year.

In September 2007, Vilks had a $100,000 bounty placed on his head by an al-Qaida faction in Iraq in response to his drawings.

In 2010, Swedish newspapers reprinted the controversial cartoon after two Muslim men were arrested and subsequently charged in the Republic of Ireland in connection with an alleged plot to murder Vilks.

Since then he has received numerous death threats and has lived under constant police protection.

In 2013, an American woman who called herself Jihad Jane was sentenced to 10 years in prison for plotting to kill him.

The Lars Vilks committee gave its freedom prize to Charlie Hebdo, the French satirical magazine, in October 2014 – three months before the terrorist attack on its Paris office.

Gerard Biard, the magazine’s editor-in chief, who received the prize in Copenhagen, survived the attack because he was in London at the time.

After the Charlie Hebdo attack, Vilks said that even fewer organisations were inviting him to give lectures amid increased security concerns.
