Of course, they are trying to reach the demographic that isn't sophisticated enough to tune in to Glen Beck . . .

It's a train wreck of poor, ill educated, rootless individuals set up to milk the system.
It has created an underclass with no morals, but with a handle on entitlements which are undeserved.
As noted previously, law enforcement is down to that which can be served easily on the few remaining, law abiding citizens.

Nanny, naneeee, where are my free tranquilisers?
And that's exactly what America should be prepared for.

Eurotopia Says Tourism Is a Human Right

So now, robbing other people to pay for your foreign vacation is a human right, just like robbing other people to pay for your health care is a human right and robbing other people to pay for your education is a human right.
An overseas holiday used to be thought of as a reward for a year's hard work. Now Brussels has declared that tourism is a human right and pensioners, youths and those too poor to afford it should have their travel subsidised by the taxpayer.
No longer considered human rights: free speech, property ownership, and the free exercise of religion...

Heh...for all you 'usual suspects' who drink the Nanny State Kool Aid:

The Welfare State’s Death Spiral. “What we’re seeing in Greece is the death spiral of the welfare state. This isn’t Greece’s problem alone, and that’s why its crisis has rattled global stock markets and threatens economic recovery. Virtually every advanced nation, including the United States, faces the same prospect.”

To a Nanny Stater, Socialism is God as we see in the following example:

Seattle City Councilmember-elect Kshama Sawant [Socialist] told Boeing machinists her idea of a radical option, should their jobs be moved out of state

“The workers should take over the factories, and shut down Boeing’s profit-making machine,” Sawant announced to a cheering crowd of union supporters in Seattle’s Westlake Park Monday night.

This week, Sawant became Seattle’s first elected Socialist council member. She ran on a platform of anti-capitalism, workers’ rights, and a $15 per-hour minimum wage for Seattle workers.

Now Boeing is threatening to take those jobs to other states. “That will be nothing short of economic terrorism because it’s going to devastate the state’s economy,” she said.

Sawant is calling for machinists to literally take-possession of the Everett airplane-building factory, if Boeing moves out. She calls that “democratic ownership.”

“The only response we can have if Boeing executives do not agree to keep the plant here is for the machinists to say the machines are here, the workers are here, we will do the job, we don’t need the executives. The executives don’t do the work, the machinists do,” she said.

Sawant says after workers “take-over” the Everett Boeing plant; they could build things everyone can use. “We can re-tool the machines to produce mass transit like buses, instead of destructive, you know, war machines,” …. Sawant says she was referring to “drones” when speaking of war machines. Still, she says even as they work on the lines, building airplanes daily, she believes Boeing workers are under siege.

“Workers have to realize, they have more power than they think,” she said.

Seattle City Councilmember-elect shares radical idea with... | www.kirotv.com

Believe this nut-job is more of a flat-out Commie than your everyday common garden variety Socialist. Democratic ownership? Does she mean "From Each According To His Abilities, To Each According To His Needs"?

bsnub brags he voted for her too!

I'm with you Boonme. We should cut social security and medicare right now. We could use the benefits to pay off the debt. And the ridiculous pensions that corporations and the government is forced to pay to workers and veterans and teachers have to go. Let people work. Retirement is just an excuse for the lazy and fools who can't plan their lives. Anyone who doesn't have the money to retire in the bank should just get back to work. Old age is term abused by socialists. Feeling old pay for yourself or get your kids to take care of you. The government needs to cut all the programs now. Why should we pass debt and a failing system onto the young. I've paid into it and I am happy to just see it end right now. The Nanny BS for all the old folks is over. All these socialist inspired benefits corporations are forced to pay should end now for workers. Workers pay will go up and that'll solve anything. With the social security, pensions and medicare cut for the old folks, millions of new jobs will be created and the old lazy useless folks will get off their welfare bums and use their bodies. Nature never intended anyone to retire. Retire in the real natural world means die. Besides, when the lazy old geezers and grannies get back to work, they get healthy using their bodies and minds.

End Social Security, Corporate Pensions and Medicare Now! Stop the Nanny States!

I expect that you wouldn't do it for the nation. Well, tough luck. If the real capitalists could get it together, you wouldn't have a word in it. Why are you supporting an Obama-style program? Commie! Boonme, scores one for Obama. Someday in the future maybe your great great grandson will be arguing against the capitalists who want to take away his healthcare just as you are. The healthcare isn't free and even right now there are people who have 'paid' into it just like you expecting to get back interest in their investment.

I can never understand why right wingers speak out against the very philosophy and programs that help them.

    Banned in Canada: Doorknobs

Henceforth doorknobs are no longer allowed in new Vancouver construction. Because old people and arthritis.
In Vancouver, the doorknob is heading into a setting sun. Its future has been date-marked, legislated out of existence in all future construction, a tip to society's quest for universal design and the easier-to-use lever handle.

...In September, Vancouver council adopted new amendments to its building code, effective next March, that, among other things, will require lever handles on all doors and lever faucets in all new housing construction.

Cats and dogs across the nation will rejoice! We have two of each and they have all managed to figure out how to open lever handle doors. Round door knobs (and the animals' lack of opposable thumbs) are wondrous things.

A government can take mine when they pry them from my cold, dead hands.

From TonyBKK's home state we have another doozie of an example of the Nanny State taking over - this place really steps up to the plate in trying to micromanage your life. Minnesota town bans homeowners from renting their homes.

Minnesota Town Bans Homeowners From Renting Their Homes

Minnesota residents are challenging a new ordinance which prohibits homeowners from renting their own homes. The first-of-its-kind law was enacted in the city of Winona to reportedly thwart “anti-social behavior,” crumbling housing conditions, and curb excessive parking, according to a report by Watchdog Minnesota."
