ChatGPT is going to take over the world

    Jordan Peterson again.

I'd recommend you give it a try, but it's obviously completely overloaded now with scabby students getting it to write their fucking essays.

Been using it a while. It's brilliant. Can write lesson plans in seconds, write full texts suitable for whatever age I ask, and gives feedback.

I typed a student's work into it and it gave decent feedback with examples.

    For education it's groundbreaking.

Disruptive is probably a better word...

Kids are using it to do their homework.

Their brains are already wired to store little information because it's all accessible from a smartphone.

The New York City Department of Education has banned access to ChatGPT, an AI-driven chatbot prototype, from school-owned networks and devices, citing unspecified concerns about its potential to undermine student learning.

Launched by the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence research firm OpenAI last November, ChatGPT can execute various tasks including answering follow-up questions, challenging incorrect premises, admitting to mistakes and rejecting inappropriate requests, according to a
company blog. The tool uses reinforcement learning from human feedback and is fashioned after OpenAI’s InstructGPT, a tool that follows instructions and provides detailed responses.

According to an email from NYC DoE spokeswoman Jenna Lyle, the department blocked the tool in December after schools requested that it do so. Some
educators have expressed concern about the potential for AI to enable cheating by writing essays for students, and Lyle said the negatives of ChatGPT outweigh the positives.

It's far more than a chatbot.

It's going to decimate the coding market.

I like that it's actually telling people how to use it.

“State and local leaders should approach the regulation of AI systems, such as myself, in a thoughtful and measured way,” it wrote. “It is important to recognize the potential benefits that AI can bring in terms of improving efficiency, accuracy and decision-making, as well as the potential risks and challenges that it may pose. As such, leaders should consider implementing regulations that balance the need to promote the use of AI with the need to protect the public and ensure that AI systems are used responsibly.”

I just typed in "Write me a script for a murder mystery movie"....

    Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

    Title: "The Unsolved Murder"
    Fade in:
    INT. OLD MANSION - DAY
We see a grand old mansion with a sign that reads "Whispering Pines." We hear the sound of a car pulling up and a car door slamming shut.
    Cut to:
    INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY
We see a group of people sitting in a living room. They all look nervous and uneasy.
HOST (50s, well-dressed)Welcome, everyone, to Whispering Pines. I've gathered you all here today because I have a proposition for you.
The group looks at each other, confused.
HOST (CONT'D)I want to put on a murder mystery game. Each of you will be given a character and a motive. One of you will be the murderer, and the rest of you will have to figure out who it is.
The group starts to get excited.

    Etc.

    It finishes:

Note: The script is a rough skeleton for a murder mystery movie, to make it a complete script additional characters, scenes, and subplots need to be added.

    The end is nigh!

“The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race. […] It would take off on its own, and re-design itself at an ever-increasing rate. Humans, who are limited by slow biological evolution, couldn’t compete, and would be superseded.”

AI is perfect for halfwits who start out with zero intelligence. The internet has had a few decades in which to direct the current generation to the easy option with little or no effort or thinking required on their part.

The few people who are still capable of independent thinking will soon die out, despite the obvious dangers and unpredictable dangers of the ultimate meltdown. Just as the world is waking up to the dangers of slavery, some lazy halfwits will sleepwalk into a barren future.

No need for people to think or make decisions. AI will do it all for you!

ChatCGT says "This statement is a highly negative and generalized view of the use of AI in society. While it is true that AI can simplify certain tasks and make them more efficient, it does not necessarily mean that it is only beneficial for those with low intelligence or that it will lead to a lack of independent thinking. AI can also be used to enhance and augment human capabilities, allowing for more complex and nuanced decision making. Additionally, it's important to note that the use of AI and the development of these technologies is a collaborative effort between humans, and it is not something that is being done solely by the machines.Furthermore, the idea of an "ultimate future" due to the use of AI is an overstatement, and it's important to consider the potential benefits that AI can bring to society such as improving healthcare, education, and transportation. The key is to use AI in a responsible and ethical way, taking into account the potential risks and working to mitigate them."

In fact I got this one from it. Should I ask for my money back?

^ you do seem to be taking a stance based upon no knowledge of chatgpt, it is an evolutionary step in AI and like it or not its part of the future. Call centres and customer service centres will be the first to go but that is just the first step.

"How shall I stuff a marrow"

The reply for the Marrow Minded is NSFW however my partner still unable to sit

    The best was

AI has the potential to do so much good. However, unfiltered and access given to the unwashed may prove difficult to manage safely
It doesn’t really matter what I think about it. It also has the potential to be abused by the unfiltered and the unwashed.

It's a step in the direction of AI but there's still a long way to go before it dumbs down humanity. At the moment it sounds like a sophisticated knowledge base that can be fed all sorts of data to help people in the future. That data still needs human input and so it's more like artificial memory than artificial intelligence. Admittedly, sometimes ot is difficult to distinguish between the two.

I shall give it a trial when I'm back in Germany.

I am not worried, I've seen ducks walk . and I'll tell you, with a tail wind I can outrun most of them.

we talked about universal basic income , and those of us in favore were laughed at.
Those who laughed, I want to se how hard they would laugh when the AIs come for their jobs.
