Post #821:
McCain is just another slime bag in Washington. He never was a "Maverick." I don't know how he got into that charade.
McCain did not even show up to vote (against) Medicare-D in 2003. He just did not show up to vote.

Glenn Beck lists 15 cities ?to avoid like the plague?: Seattle is No. 3 - Strange Bedfellows ? Politics News
"The former Fox News pundit Glenn Beck, a native of Washington, has ranked Seattle as No. 3 on a list of what he calls “15 cities to avoid like the plague when things go bad,” a list based on cities’ lack of religious observance.
“These are cities to avoid like the plague and if you look at that list, these are the cities that are already having trouble and we haven’t even hit the road bump,” Beck said Tuesday on his radio program.
Portland is No. 1 on Beck’s list, a ranking that has been greeted with cheers in the self-satisfied commonwealth that is Oregon. San Francisco is the silver medalist at No. 2.
“We beat out Seattle (No. 3) and San Francisco (No. 2), those hellish dens of sin, because we are, according to a study from the Public Religion Research Institute, the major metro area with the highest number of religiously unaffiliated residents,” Willamette Week, Portland’s best source of news, editorialized on Thursday.
Glenn Beck is a native son, born in Everett and raised in Mt. Vernon. After his mother’s drowning, he moved to Bellingham and graduated from Sehome High School.
At the height of his run at Fox News, spouting the claim that President Obama had a “deep seated hatred for white people,” Beck was given the keys to the city by Mt. Vernon Mayor Bud Norris. Hundreds demonstrated outside the ceremony with signs saying the city should change the locks.
The 15-cities-to-avoid list begins with St. Louis at No. 15, followed by Washington, D.C., Minneapolis-St. Paul, Las Vegas and Milwaukee.
The top-ten list, in increasingly sinful order, consists of Los Angeles, Boston, Detroit, Columbus, Ohio, St. Petersburg, Florida — which has been surprised to find itself on the list — Phoenix, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco and Portland.
Beck was raised a Roman Catholic, but converted as an adult to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). He is known for apocalyptic talk, and such web site messages as: “We need to pray that the dominoes do not begin to tumble this fall.”
Curiously, the three West Coast cities atop Beck’s list are all vulnerable to earthquakes as plates crunch beneath the North Pacific. San Francisco has expreienced major quakes in 1906 and 1989. The apocalyptic danger in our region is the “Big One” that hits the Northwest coast every 300 to 450 years. The last such magnitude 9 quake struck on January 26, 1700, meaning we are 315 years into the vulnerability period.
Beck is now based outside of Fort Worth in Texas. He is not up to date on the religious life of the region. We may not be as heathen as Beck thinks. He should know that Bellevue has a Mormon Temple, topped by a statue of the Angel Moroni high above I-90. St. James Cathedral gets more worshipers on an average summer Sunday than Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on the anniversary of its World War II liberation.
The mayor of Seattle, Ed Murray, a practicing Roman Catholic, talked about his faith during a Wednesday night talk at Temple de Hirsch Sinai on his recent trip to Israel and the West Bank.
Two two largest anti-war marches, before Gulf War I and Gulf War II, were between St. Marks and St. James Cathedral in Seattle. The city’s faith community was the driving force behind the 2014 Washington initiative campaign to require criminal background checks for firearms purchasers.
And perhaps the move to Arizona of fallen Seattle mega-church pastor Mark Driscoll will bounce Phoenix from Beck’s top-15 or push it down the list".
Yeah, imagine all those anarchists, marxists, wannabe progressives etc there in Seattle screaming for the government to 'do something' when the shit hits the fan!![]()
^ Seattle and its residents will be far better off than most of the country if "the shit" hits the fan.
Glenn Beck believes that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon from gold plates using a stone and that asking for intervention from magical sky pixies is effective disaster preparedness so who gives a fock what that nutter 'thinks'.

Say it ain't so, Glenn!

I am watching Don Lemon on CNN. They are talking to Republican talking heads.
If this is what they think Republican voters are I am so glad that I have NOTHING to do with the GOP.
Does the media even begin to understand that for most conservatives, Obama is yesterday’s news? We got it! I believe we are MUCH more offended by Boehner and McConnell and the rest of the GOP establishment.
We expect to disagree with the progressive left. But we have been betrayed and lied to by “our own.”
Over that, I, for one, am D O N E with all of them. We are never going to fix our nation by starting with D.C.
Maybe it is because I just spent the day in media and politician hell, but I really am so frustrated by everyone who just keeps bringing it back to what politician X or Y did.
I just saw my appearance on CNN. I recorded it earlier today. They edited the heart out of it. I wish they would have left the real conversation – the meaningful conversation Don and I had.
…
I am done with this. If I can’t fix my own radio show and get my own show to begin to take action of healing, help and decency then I need to go away myself.
I don’t know how much more I can do and fail.
This isn’t about anyone else but me. Maybe I need to leave the media and public life and just walk the walk in my own neighborhood and life.
Each of us are going to be held responsible for our own actions and our friends, family and everything that is meaningful is on fire and we are engaging in a clown show or an angry venting.
Both are important, but I just can’t do it anymore.
Ben Franklin said around 1773 that he could no longer be with friends anymore. Because most failed to understand the gravity of what was really happening in the world.
He felt almost dirty by talking about normal things. I feel the same way.
God is going to make me account for every moment of air-time, every word and every action I chose to put my effort behind."
