Rush Limbaugh Reportedly Hospitalized In Hawaii - cbs4.comA report out of Hawaii on Wednesday evening indicated that conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was hospitalized in serious condition after suffering chest pains.
I think the passing of the health care bill was just too much for poor old Rush's heart to bear especially as he dedicated all his energies to it's defeat.Originally Posted by Milkman

^ I've grown to really detest, him.
Every Summer when I visit I turn him on, just for a few minutes.
Over-the-top. Bouncing from topic to topic. Saying weazel words constantly. Rude. Willfully ignorant. Using the mainstream media as his source. He was fixating on drug use for years, and advocated harsh penalties and made fun of people who died who had only Xanax in their blood (e.g. Sam Kinison, when he was killed by a drunk driver).
To get ratings, you have to be stupid, willfully ignorant, and over-the-top.
He's an entertainer. And I don't like mixing politics with entertainment.

Man child or Man boy as I like to call him.
Hey. When the Wall street crowd take their money and go overseas, and there's just a lot of dumb fcuks left there wondering what happened, it may well end up as a country further to the left than can currently be imagined.
Then again, this is a country where the poor majority people are indrocinated to believe that if they work really hard with 2 jobs for low pay then they too could become rich and influential. Well, that and selling drugs or other forms of crime.
Get well soon Rush. We need your voice of sanity in the forest of left wing loon demented Marxist jaw jabbers like Chris Matthews. Odorman, Madcow, Huffpo, Moveon & Soros & Podesta & Andy Stern.
They sound like they are beating on metal wash tubs. Anything to keep the spotlight off the first doofus.

What happens if Rush dies in Hawaii?
Will anyone believe the death certificate?
Limbaugh Lauds (Socialist) Medical Care in Hawaii
According to Rush Limbaugh, the health care reform that may be passed by Congress is socialism. Yet, it bears a striking resemblance to the universal healthcare system that just treated him in Hawaii that prompted his remark: "there is nothing wrong with the American health care system. I received no special treatment."
Yes, Rush. That's the point! American medicine is superb--for those who can get it. And, in Hawaii, no one gets special treatment, because everyone can get it.
[Er, by the way, just to help you out, Rush, a fair percentage of your listeners do not know Hawaii is part of the United States, so clarify that for them...otherwise, they will wonder about you]
By accepting socialist medical treatment in Hawaii, therefore, Rush Limbaugh has shown that, when one is ill, what matters is the availability of quality health care, even if it is socialist.
..Hawaii has had nearly-universal employer-mandated health insurance since 1974. Although its Pacific Island location makes the costs of everything--from gasoline to milk to ice cream to housing--the highest in the nation, health care premiums in Hawaii, for comprehensive care with small co-pays and deductibles, are nearly the lowest and their costs per medicare beneficiary are the lowest in the nation.

Rush Limbaugh, of all people, delivers the slam dunk argument for Health care reform.![]()
It would be a nice bit of irony, but this passage makes me wonder 1) How much the draft-dodging phony conservative blowhard actually paid, and 2) If it really was the "same care" anyone else would receive- I doubt that all Hawaiian hospitals are created equal:
"Now, of course, Rush does not live in Hawaii and so his costs are not covered by the Hawaiian insurance system, but having that "socialist" system for more than 3 decades has not reduced the quality of the care he received."
That a system like the one in Hawaii, or Oregon, or the pediatric healthcare insurance in a state like Florida, etc., doesn't reduce the the quality of the care should be a no-brainer anyway. It might be possible to make that argument re a single payer system, plus if everyone has access to any system wait times will nearly always increase (which gives some insight into the "conservative" mentality; they are happy for large numbers of people to be denied care if it reduces their wait time). But as to quality of care, however that is measured, there is no reason a system of highly-regulated, subsidized private insurers should have an effect.
Nearly 50 million adults are on Medicare in the US, 8 million or so get VA benefits, another 8 million or so get Tricare, and 52 million get Medicaid or SCHIP. That's a pretty major socialized system covering over a third of the population right there- those who benefit from any of these should be honest and never bitch about socialism. Mainly, the people who have trouble getting health insurance in the US are young to middle-aged taxpayers, self-employed or in the service business, and the anti-healthcare movement is basically about denying these people access, despite the fact that they work. If you don't work and are poor you get Medicaid, etc., so the people the right-wing nutters see as freeloaders and layabouts, rightly or wrongly, are already getting a free ride. It's working poor and middle class people that get fucked, despite paying taxes which instead of helping them get wasted on desert adventures and nifty Star Wars programs, etc.

employer-mandated...OK. Anyhow, I'll wait to hear how Rush paid, etc.

Rush: Thank god Obama didn’t visit me in the hospital - or I might have had a heart-attack!
Hot Air Blog Archive Rush: Thank god Obama didn’t visit me in the hospital
Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh and televangelist Pat Robertson are being scolded for their comments in the immediate aftermath of an earthquake in Haiti that has killed tens of thousands, according to early estimates.
Critics from both the left and right are denouncing their remarks as insensitive to the disaster and attempts to score political points off human tragedy.
Speaking on his radio show Wednesday, Limbaugh said the earthquake has played into Obama’s hands, allowing the president to look “compassionate” and “humanitarian” while at the same time bolstering his standing in both the “light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country.”
He added: “We've already donated to Haiti. It’s called the U.S. income tax.”
Limbaugh’s comments were, in part, a riff on Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) much publicized remark in a new book that Obama was able to win the election because he is “light-skinned” and lacks a “Negro dialect.”
But regardless of the intended context, Limbaugh’s comments have been widely panned.
“They are deeply insensitive,” said conservative commentator Pat Buchanan on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
“The president speaks for the country when he says we’re going to go in there,” he said. “You want your whole nation, and it’s very positive. And I think Rush’s comments were cynical.”
Sitting next to Buchanan on set, host Joe Scarborough called Limbaugh’s comments “deplorable.”
“The insensitivity is stunning,” said the former Republican congressman.
Liberal commentators also quickly jumped on Limbaugh.
