Here's the latest news on one of Obama's favourite community organising groups.

BALTIMORE — The group ACORN has fired two employees who were seen on hidden-camera video giving tax advice to a man posing as a pimp and a woman who pretended to be a prostitute.
Fox News Channel broadcast excerpts from the video Thursday. On the video, a man and woman visiting ACORN's Baltimore office asked about buying a house and how to account on tax forms for the woman's income. An ACORN employee advised the woman to list her occupation as "performance artist."
The Associated Press: ACORN fires 2 after hidden-camera footage aired

Some live vids on FOX. I wonder about the date on the live vids tho -- 2005?
Nevertheless, ACORN has shown it knew the scam crap by firing the two chicks. Love those libbies -- helping out pros who want to bring in young teenaged girls from El Salvador for their sex trade. (Never mind that this was staged by greenie reporters, the ACORN chicks showed all -- hey, and only $50 for tax info on how to cheat the govt). Love those libbies.

Bladdy hell jet, thats less than 1% of what I would charge folk to cheat the government out of tax- way less. Then again, they were rich so they could afford it.

Here is something I read yesterday (ACORN related story). I didn’t want to post it for oblivious reasons. But what the hell,………..maybe it’ll make someones day.

Eleven people hired to register potential voters in Miami-Dade County before last year's presidential election were sought Wednesday, accused of falsifying hundreds of voter registration cards.

By late Wednesday, seven were in custody and being held without bond, authorities said.

The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office issued arrest warrants for each of the 11 suspects, all of whom worked for the local chapter of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now or ACORN.

    Snip

The workers, who were paid between $8 and $10 an hour, registered names of nonexistent people -- in one case, actor Paul Newman and singer James Taylor appeared on cards -- or simply filled out several cards for the same real voter, authorities said.

^ Unfortunate. That has been in the news for awhile and it was largely ignored. I liked the "Mickey Mouse" registrants.

Yes I know, though it's not a $3800 dollar fine across the board there is criteria to meet it still begs the question and it is a compromise bill supposedly under heavy consideration..

The pro health care crowd seem to be stumped on this one even the out of towners I requested examples from as no one is addressing the question..

For the record I don't see a problem with some level of health care program as preventing problems is less costly then treating them..IMO everyone should have the ability to get treated without bankrupting themselves or the future of their family, there is a lot of peripheral effect of people not getting early treatment which could save their lives and continue their productiveness in society and for their families..

I proposed such a plan back when in another thread and it is much simpler, cost effective and more easily implemented though on a smaller scale...

As ACORN has fired the four staff in the first two vids, I would consider the vids truthful. But, I smell a rat here with this activist film-maker who dishes out a new tape every couple of days. I still question why nobody has asked him about the 2005 dates on every vid. Oh well, the Census Bureau got rid of ACORN, so that is good news.

    Oh:

The Senate voted to cut off ACORN Housing funds following the release of three videotapes that show employees of the activist group advising a "pimp" and "prostitute" on how to break the law.
The amendment, offered by Nebraska Republican Sen. Mike Johanns, passed in a vote of 83 to 7 and prohibits the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now from receiving funds from the current Transportation and Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill. It marks the third time this year Republicans tried to block the organization from federal funding.

That's about the crux of it, yeah.

Some interesting comments by Carter and others on the whole thing recently:
After lurking near the surface of political discourse in America for months, awkward questions about race and bigotry burst into the open yesterday after Jimmy Carter forthrightly suggested that "an overwhelming portion" of the more violent opposition to President Barack Obama and his policies has to do with the colour of his skin.

    ...

"I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African American,"

"I think it's bubbled up to the surface, because of a belief among many white people, not just in the South but around the country, that African Americans are not qualified to lead this great country."

    ...

Melissa Harris-Lacewell, a professor of African American studies at Princeton, congratulated Mr Carter, saying he had once again "demonstrated the power of interracial solidarity against racism", and had "carefully, powerfully, and accurately pointed out that racism is currently motivating some Americans' opposition to President Obama".

And at an unexpectedly well-attended rally of assorted anti-Obama protesters in the Washington Mall on Saturday, some carried placards with messages such as , "The Zoo as an African and the White House as a Lyin' African" and "Cap Congress and Trade Obama Back to Kenya!"

...Lou Dobbs, a CNN anchor and avid fan of the birthers, even suggested that Mr Obama might be an illegal alien. "You suppose he's un ... No, I won't even use the word 'undocumented'; it wouldn't be right," he teased.

...in the words of Maureen Dowd: "Some people just can't believe a black man is President and will never accept it."...

Investors.com - 45% Of Doctors Would Consider Quitting If Congress Passes Health Care Overhaul

45% Of Doctors Would Consider Quitting If Congress Passes Health Care Overhaul

By TERRY JONES, INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILYPosted 09/15/2009 07:09 PM ET

    IBD Exclusive Series:
Condition Critical: What Doctors Think About Health Reform

Two of every three practicing physicians oppose the medical overhaul plan under consideration in Washington, and hundreds of thousands would think about shutting down their practices or retiring early if it were adopted, a new IBD/TIPP Poll has found.

The poll contradicts the claims of not only the White House, but also doctors' own lobby — the powerful American Medical Association — both of which suggest the medical profession is behind the proposed overhaul.

It also calls into question whether an overhaul is even doable; 72% of the doctors polled disagree with the administration's claim that the government can cover 47 million more people with better-quality care at lower cost.

The IBD/TIPP Poll was conducted by mail the past two weeks, with 1,376 practicing physicians chosen randomly throughout the country taking part. Responses are still coming in, and doctors' positions on related topics — including the impact of an overhaul on senior care, medical school applications and drug development — will be covered later in this series.

    Major findings included:

•Two-thirds, or 65%, of doctors say they oppose the proposed government expansion plan. This contradicts the administration's claims that doctors are part of an "unprecedented coalition" supporting a medical overhaul.

It also differs with findings of a poll released Monday by National Public Radio that suggests a "majority of physicians want public and private insurance options," and clashes with media reports such as Tuesday's front-page story in the Los Angeles Times with the headline "Doctors Go For Obama's Reform."

Nowhere in the Times story does it say doctors as a whole back the overhaul. It says only that the AMA — the "association representing the nation's physicians" and what "many still regard as the country's premier lobbying force" — is "lobbying and advertising to win public support for President Obama's sweeping plan."

The AMA, in fact, represents approximately 18% of physicians and has been hit with a number of defections by members opposed to the AMA's support of Democrats' proposed health care overhaul.

•Four of nine doctors, or 45%, said they "would consider leaving their practice or taking an early retirement" if Congress passes the plan the Democratic majority and White House have in mind.

More than 800,000 doctors were practicing in 2006, the government says. Projecting the poll's finding onto that population, 360,000 doctors would consider quitting.
Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Another blow to the birther pointy heads....

Connie Rhodes "Birther" Challenge Thrown Out, Taitz Scolded

The Huffington Post | Rachel Weiner

U.S. District Court Judge Clay Land has thrown out a complaint questioning the president's birth from an Army captain fighting deployment to Iraq and gave a warning to her lawyer, birther maven Orly Taitz.
Land also put attorney Orly Taitz, who represents Capt. Connie Rhodes and is a leader in the national "birther" movement, on notice by stating that she could face sanctions if she ever files a similar "frivolous" lawsuit in his court.

"(Rhodes) has presented no credible evidence and has made no reliable factual allegations to support her unsubstantiated, conclusory allegations and conjecture that President Obama is ineligible to serve as president of the United States," Land states in his order. "Instead, she uses her complaint as a platform for spouting political rhetoric, such as her claims that the president is 'an illegal usurper, an unlawful pretender, [and] an unqualified imposter.'"
In an interview with Talking Points Memo, Taitz said she would keep fighting if Rhodes wanted to, despite the judge's threat. "Listen, Nelson Mandela stayed in prison for years in order to get to the truth and justice," she said.
In his order, the judge noted that Rhodes had objected only to deployment to Iraq under President Obama, not to serving in the military generally.
Rhodes is not the first soldier to object to overseas deployment on the grounds that Obama is not a legitimate president. Stefan Frederick Cook, a reserve soldier who volunteered for an active duty tour, argued that he should not have to go to Afghanistan for similar reasons to Rhodes. The army revoked his deployment orders.

I'm sure the liberal media is to blame again.

And in other Obama related news...

Some Republicans are calling the censure movement over Rep. Wilson's "You lie!" outburst a partisan witch hunt. Oh the irony, someone make it stop!
