You good folks are going to look foolish when you realize that all the mainstream corporate driven American TV news networks {cable or network} are all kin of the same ruling establishment.....their is no competition nor partisan politics amongst them. They just disguise it well.

Yet another Obama appointee that has tax issues.

Tax issues emerge in Daschle nomination - White House- msnbc.com

WASHINGTON - Former Sen. Tom Daschle, picked by President Barack Obama to lead his health reform efforts, recently filed amended tax returns to report $128,203 in unpaid taxes and $11,964 in interest, according to a Senate document obtained by The Associated Press.

The White House acknowledged Friday that "some tax issues" had emerged in connection with the nomination, but a spokesman said the president is confident the former Senate Democratic leader will be confirmed as the new health secretary.

Daschle filed amended tax returns for 2005, 2006 and 2007 to reflect additional income for consulting work, the use of a car service and reductions in charitable contribution deductions. He filed the returns after the announcement that Obama intended to nominate him to head the Health and Human Services Department.
I sure the guy didn't mean to cheat on his taxes, I mean he did come forward to pay them AFTER Obama offered the appointment. It's likely that he would have paid them pretty soon anyway - like right before he came up for re-election.

    Obama's Oval Office Hypocrisy

    By Steven Milloy
    FOXNews.com Contributor/ JunkScience.com Publisher
As reported on JunkScience.com on Thursday…

The New York Times reported on Thursday, January 29 that:
“…the capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.

“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”

Could this be the same Barack Obama who said last May that:

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times… and then just expect that other countries are going to say ‘OK.’ … That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen.”

And could this be the same Barack Obama who is looking to sign a stimulus bill that would spend billions of dollars installing millions of “smart meters” that would enable your power company to prevent you from being as comfortable as he is on hot and cold days?

While our new president is warm-and-toasty in the Oval Office, is he considering the plight of Michigan’s Marvin Schur, a 93-year World War II veteran, who was recently found frozen to death courtesy of a malfunctioning electricity “limiter” device installed by his power company?

Change has come to Washington. Elitism is dead. Long live elitism.

A little bit of "do as I say, not as I do" kind of thing.

And this is from the guy that just the other day was joking about how folks in Washington didn't know how to deal with snow because his girls school was closesd for a snow day - compared to Chicago.

I guess he can take the snow as long as it 80 deg in the Oval office.

regardless, were the rest of the worlds investors that blinded and duped by not recognizing it either?? appreantly so and that disqualifies them from throwing blame around they need to look within their own house first, no one twisted their arm to invest nor are they innocent or blameless, they are supposed to be "financial professionals" it is supposed to be their job to know good from bad, and recognize bad investments before they invest that's how they make their clients money..

    He’s gota sense of humor!

Excerpt of the President's remarks tonight, they're cute:

I am seriously glad to be here tonight at the annual Alfalfa dinner. I know that many you are aware that this dinner began almost one hundred years ago as a way to celebrate the birthday of General Robert E. Lee. If he were here with us tonight, the General would be 202 years old. And very confused.

Now, this hasn't been reported yet, but it was actually Rahm's idea to do the swearing-in ceremony again. Of course, for Rahm, every day is a swearing-in ceremony.

But don't believe what you read. Rahm Emanuel is a real sweetheart.

No, it's true. Every week the guy takes a little time away to give back to the community. Just last week he was at a local school, teaching profanity to poor children.

But these are the kind of negotiations you have to deal with as President. In just the first few weeks, I've had to engage in some of the toughest diplomacy of my life. And that was just to keep my Blackberry. I finally agreed to limit the number of people who could email me. It's a very exclusive list. How exclusive?

Everyone look at the person sitting on your left. Now look at the person sitting on your right. None of you have my email address.

Should be interesting to see how Obama handles China as it relates to trade and the Yuan. His treasury secretary sure ain’t making any friends over there.

I do find the title of the Washington Post article more than just a bit misleading. There is nothing in the article nor any other article that I have read that indicates either of them said anything specific about the Yuan. They both seemed to dance around the issue and talk around the edges rather than specifically addressing the issue.

    washingtonpost.com

    DISAGREEMENT ON YUAN
Obama Calls China's Hu to Discuss Currency

President Obama called Chinese President Hu Jintao on Friday, according to carefully worded statements released by both the White House and the official New China News Agency, in the wake of pre-confirmation statements by Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner suggesting that Obama might believe China is a currency manipulator.

The news releases provided clues to the current delicate relationship between the two nations on the currency question.

"Hu said the core interest of either country should be respected by each other and taken into consideration," the Chinese government said, an apparent request for an end to potentially insulting comments about the currency exchange rate.

Meanwhile, the otherwise opaque White House statement noted that "President Obama stressed the need to correct global trade imbalances as well as to stimulate global growth and get credit markets flowing" -- a point that suggests continuing concern over the weak yuan's effects on the U.S. economy.

WASHINGTON -- The CIA's secret prisons are being shuttered. Harsh interrogation techniques are off-limits. And Guantanamo Bay will eventually go back to being a wind-swept naval base on the southeastern corner of Cuba.

But even while dismantling these programs, President Obama left intact an equally controversial counter-terrorism tool.

Under executive orders issued by Obama recently, the CIA still has authority to carry out what are known as renditions, secret abductions and transfers of prisoners to countries that cooperate with the United States.

Current and former U.S. intelligence officials said that the rendition program might be poised to play an expanded role going forward because it was the main remaining mechanism -- aside from Predator missile strikes -- for taking suspected terrorists off the street.

The rendition program became a source of embarrassment for the CIA, and a target of international scorn, as details emerged in recent years of botched captures, mistaken identities and allegations that prisoners were turned over to countries where they were tortured.

The European Parliament condemned renditions as "an illegal instrument used by the United States." Prisoners swept up in the program have sued the CIA as well as a Boeing Co. subsidiary accused of working with the agency on dozens of rendition flights.

But the Obama administration appears to have determined that the rendition program was one component of the Bush administration's war on terrorism that it could not afford to discard.

Obama preserves renditions as counter-terrorism tool - Los Angeles Times

too bad Norton the words are telling. To summarize Senator Barney (Rubble) Frank even goes as far as to say that there is no indicators of the need for regulation and that all of their financials are solvent and doing fine (Freddie Mack and Fannie Mae) and even 'IF' there would be no need for the government to bail them out.. The Dems blocked legislation proposed by the Reps well into president Bush's first term and even one bill that was proposed by McCain to provide for more regulation and even Greenspan warned of the exact scenerio we are currently entangled in early in Bush's second term but all attempts were effectively blocked by the Dem congress..
Damn! why didn't I hear about any of this prior to elections??

Thats OK Nort, it is well worth the wait.
Bush tried to warn Congress in 2002 that this economic crisis was coming, if something was not done. But congress refused to listen, along with Barney Franks. This video says it all.
Also that the liberal AMERICAN media did not want this video on You Tube, so they had Time Warner threaten a law suit (proprietary rights) if it was not taken off.
This link is of the same video but is routed through Canada . Everyone in America needs to see this!

Must admit, I haven't watched it but a Fox news story dated Sept 10, 2003 would be interesting to watch.

Wonder how Obama is connected? Oh sorry forgot, he is a Democrat! And of course Bush and McCain must be applauded for their warning. Musta had a change of heart about the economy since 2003. Was only a few months ago when both were telling us the economy was fundamentally sound!

I don't understand the dating as BG says they made specific reference to Obama in the story and I can't see why that would have been done at that point as he wasn't even a gleam in his campaign fathers eye.. So the story must be updated but only referencing information from that point, but so you know it is not commentary it shows specific references being made in hearings to a congressional panel which Barney Rubble, uh... I mean...Frank was heading up on the topic..
