Okay, Neoconservative foreign policy has it's roots in Trotskyite teachings. The neoconservatives are leftists who found safe harbor with Democrat Senator "Scoop" Jackson during the 60s an 70s. They then migrated to the republican Party and succeeded in gaining the White House via George Bush Jr..
I'm satisfied with that.
I really feel that if this is the level of political debate in the US for the average man then the US is facing some tough times ahead given the irrevocable position of the right.
If one were looking at an individual the incredible level of denial and shifting of blame would be the actions of a major personality disorder,
but we are talking of a group of perhaps 50 million people that are affected by this psychosis.
It is worrying for the state of the US that these people cannot accept the damage caused by the people they voted for and instead have turned to a guerilla mentality instead of trying to help pick up the pieces.

The most benign slant I can put on the neo-con's, or their predecessors known as the 'Loonies' under Bush snr, is that they were/are deluded Idealists. At least some of them- others were also committed Zionists, cynically manipulating US foreign policy to perform Israels dirty work.
Their idealism proceeds from the utterly absurd assumption that the International community/ World could be made into a 'better place' (in the US image:rolleyes:) by a mixture of unilateral threats, bullying and violence. Human nature does not work that way of course, and furthermore in their absurd PNAC manifesto they failed to realise or acknowledge that, necessarily, US military and economic power would be on a relative basis declining on a Global scale in the 21st century. So acting like Totalitarian hegemon's was only going to be shortsighted, and counterproductive in the medium term.
I suppose, by offering a stark example of what doesn't work, they prepared the road for the (hopefully) more enlightened, collaborative and productive approach of Pres Obama. But they also left him with a major economic hangover, and accelerated the US' economic decline.

Wiki fails to mention that the 'mass walkout' was due to the Camp David peace accords, sponsored by Carter and largely torpedoed by subsequent US administrations. They were indeed largely (if not all) Jewish and Zionist, and it is a good thing they are discredited now, although you can be sure they will be doing all they can- hand in glove with AIPAC- to scuttle the current Obama sponsored mid east peace initiative.
It is somewhat far fetched to call them Trotskyite though, unless that merely refers to an aggressive foreign policy. Trotsky did not believe in the private ownership of the means of production for a start, nor even private ownership or transfer of wealth- which puts him quite at odds with the Neo-cons and their aggressive privatisation policies, even down to warfare.
I mean why stop comparing Trotsky with the NeoCons, let's compare them with Fascism, Laissez Faire Capitalism, NeoCapitalism, and even National Socialism
