    Israeli way of joking??

"Israel may express sorrow for refugees"

JERUSALEM, Sept 15: Israel is prepared to express sorrow for the plight of Palestinians who became refugees when the country was created, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said.

“We will participate in expressing sorrow for what happened to them, but also for what happened to us, the suffering of hundreds of thousands of Jews who were driven out of Arab countries,” Mr Olmert told a parliamentary committee on Monday.

Palestinians have demanded that Israel accept responsibility for the suffering of Palestinians who fled or were driven from their homes in the war that followed Israel’s creation in 1948.

Mr Olmert spoke at a closed session of the Israeli parliamentary foreign affairs and defence committee.

“Under no circumstances will there be a right of return” for refugees into Israel, he said. He said Israel would be “ready to be part of an international mechanism that will resolve the problem.”

The UN estimates that the refugees and their descendants now number around 4.5 million people. Facing a series of corruption investigations, the prime minister has said he will step down after his Kadima party elects a new leader on Wednesday.

Mr Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas are scheduled to meet on Tuesday to discuss peace talks.

WARNING: Mr Olmert warned against delaying a peace deal with the Palestinians.“Every day that goes by without our reaching a deal with the Palestinians is a day we may regret in the future,” an aide quoted the once-hawkish Olmert as telling parliament’s powerful foreign affairs and defence committee.

On Sunday, Olmert said Israel must give up parts of the West Bank.

“The idea of a ‘Greater Israel’ is over. There is no such thing. Whoever says so is just misleading himself,” Olmert said.

“I used to think that the land between the Jordan river and the sea was all ours. But ultimately, after a long and torturous process, I reached the conclusion that we must share it with those who live here with us.” —Agencies

At least they accept the fact that people were actually displaced.

Mostly the Palestine's that left there homes was ahead of a planned gathering of the warriors to attack and annihilate all the Jews and the plan was to then return to their homes in a Jew free state, but the Jews fooled the shit out of them and did not lay down and die or be driven into the sea, but did in fact win all battles and Israel did in fact become a Jew state and left the Palestine's with their useless dicks hanging out.
    so Hahaha.

Yes it was a joke that the djoos turned the tables on what Arab leaders thought would be a routine Islamic massacre. Just as well, otherwise there'd be no civilised people at all in that region.

Btw I don't seem to hear to much about the hundreds of thousands of djoos expelled from Arab lands with what they could carry.

Kadima has elected the female foriegn minister as its new leader. She has 6 weeks to form a coalition government or there must be a general election. Sharon the butcher of Sabra and Shatila is still a fat vegetable but he represents the principles of Kadima. More suffering for the Palestinians and perhaps phoney peace talks between the stupid agent Mohammed Abbas and a "peace loving Israel".
They champion falsehood, support the butcher against the victim, the oppressor against the innocent child. May God mete them the punishment they deserve

^ I do agree the Palis are not as smart as the Jewish folks.

But as for the new leader, can she form a new coalition?

Actually, in a series of IQ tests done in schools in Israel, the Palestinians averaged higher IQ's than the Jews.

Anyway, expressing sorrow is one thing, but stopping Settlement building in Palestine and preparing the way for a Palestinian state quite another.

May have something to do with ideals and values within the respective teaching methodologies, because as far as I know djooish children are not educated in the religious arts of bomb concealment and scanner evasion.

Btw, seeing as you picked up on spelling rather than the post content in context, I can only suppose you privately agree with the material parts of that post, even if you are unable to do so publicly.

...djooish children are not educated in the religious arts of bomb concealment and scanner evasion.

Olmert Says Israel Should Pull Out of West Bank

JERUSALEM — Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in an interview published on Monday that Israel must withdraw from nearly all of the West Bank as well as East Jerusalem to attain peace with the Palestinians and that any occupied land it held onto would have to be exchanged for the same quantity of Israeli territory.

He also dismissed as “megalomania” any thought that Israel would or should attack Iran on its own to stop it from developing nuclear weapons, saying the international community and not Israel alone was charged with handling the issue.

In an unusually frank and soul-searching interview granted after he resigned to fight corruption charges — he remains interim prime minister until a new government is sworn in — Mr. Olmert discarded longstanding Israeli defense doctrine and called for radical new thinking, in words that are sure to stir controversy as his expected successor, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, tries to build a coalition.

“What I am saying to you now has not been said by any Israeli leader before me,” Mr. Olmert told the newspaper Yediot Aharonot in the interview on the occasion of the Jewish new year, observed from Monday evening till Wednesday evening. “The time has come to say these things.”

He said that traditional Israeli defense strategists had learned nothing from past experiences and that they seemed stuck in the considerations of the 1948 war of independence.

“With them, it is all about tanks and land and controlling territories and controlled territories and this hilltop and that hilltop,” he said. “All these things are worthless.”

As they reacted to Mr. Olmert’s remarks, Palestinian negotiators said it was satisfying to hear Mr. Olmert’s words but they said the words did not match what he had offered them so far. Yasser Abed Rabbo, a senior Palestinian official, told Palestinian Radio that it would have been better if Mr. Olmert had taken this position while in office rather than while leaving it and that Mr. Olmert had not yet presented a detailed plan for a border between Israel and a Palestinian state.

Olmert- “Who thinks seriously that if we sit on another hilltop, on another hundred meters, that this is what will make the difference for the State of Israel’s basic security?”

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/30/wo...olmert.html?em

Gradually, all but the right wing nutters are realising the only way to achieve long term security for Israel is to give the Palestinians back their occupied land. Even Ariel Sharon realised this, and kudos to Olmert for speaking out frankly on this festering issue- he was also previously staunchly against returning the occupied territories.

There is no other realistic option for Israel, plain and simple. Now, lets see some action.

funny though that he never did anything to push the peace process or initiate more withdrawal ? maybe scared of his own security staff who could do him like Rabin, or worse finish like Sharon ?

I don't think Israeli PM have any power, it's obvious they can't do anything without the authorization of their military generals,

who said that Israel was a democracy again ? like it's Arab neighbors, they are no more than a little dictatorship in disguise
