^ Oh gee, thanks.
Of course it's the trade-off, I just find it amusing after all the nasties Biden said about Cheney thru the campaign.

I think this meal will be all about business, rather than a love-in. I know that Biden and McCain are actually friends in real life, but I doubt Biden and Cheney would have much in common.
^^
In fairness to Biden though Jet, it would be a bit of a jump to find anything nice to say about Cheney, except that he did well to rear a rug muncher.
^ Naughty, CMN.
Biden meets Cheney after campaign trail barbs
2 hours ago
WASHINGTON (AFP) — Vice President Dick Cheney welcomed his successor, vice president-elect Joseph Biden, to his official residence Thursday, shrugging off his visitor's stinging campaign trail attacks.
Biden arrived at the vice president's official Naval Observatory residence in northwest Washington with his wife Jill, and posed for photographs with Cheney and his wife Lynne.
During the 50-minute visit, the couples held a private meeting and the Cheneys gave their guests a tour of the ornate residence, said the vice president's spokeswoman, Megan Mitchell.
"It was a good visit. The Cheneys enjoyed giving the Bidens a tour of the residence and wished them well as they make it their home in January," she said in a statement.
The Bidens in turn thanked their hosts "for welcoming them into their home and for their gracious hospitality," said Elizabeth Alexander, a spokeswoman for the vice president-elect.
Biden was a fierce critic of Cheney, possibly the most powerful vice president ever, during the presidential campaign which ended with Democrat Barack Obama's historic victory last week.
In the vice presidential debate against Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin last month, Biden branded Cheney "the most dangerous vice president we've had."
During his speech at the Democratic National Convention in August, Biden took another withering swipe at Cheney.
"For every American who is trying to do the right thing, for all those people in government who are honoring their pledge to uphold the law and respect our Constitution, no longer will the eight most dreaded words in the English language be: 'The vice president's office is on the phone'," he said.

Here is the list for the last 40 odd years. Compared to most I'll take ole Joe anytime.Originally Posted by Jet Gorgon

What's the mystery? They all belong to the same club. You can dissect and analyse this crap until the cows come home, yet what remains factual is that all these folks are one and the same. I have to wonder what the distinguished gentlemen, Biden and Cheney, would be dining on? Perhaps CHICKENHAWK?
For some reason I get this image that Biden is Obama's Jerry Lewis sidekick. He makes Obama look good and his buffoonery takes the attention off Obama.
^*Chuckle* that was funny.
Biden is more respected than you can know. I am an American, living now (ret.) in Mexico and I said to my husband, apx. 2 years ago, when I was pulling for Hillary, "watch...whoever wins the Democratic Primary, will be wise to pick Biden as VP"...and guess what? I was right.I've been listening to Biden for years now and though he can put his foot in his mouth at times, who doesn't? He is an on-the-fly kinda guy, but he is REAL.He had a very tragic start in politics(wife and 1 yr-old daughter killed in car crash just weeks after his being elected to the Senate) and he is a very loving father to his 2 sons by his deceased wife and to his little daughter and current wife, Jill.He actually has a very high IQ and is no dummy, believe me. Compare THAT to "W" for the last 8 years, lol...and compare how very EVIL Cheney and Rove have been and all that this current administration has gotten away with to what Obama/Biden can (and will) do in contrast. No comparison! Obama is making some very confident and wise choices for his cabinet, not the least of which is Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. She will be much more welcomed by foreign dignataries and leaders that Condie Rice ever was.And she will be much more effective. Last of all, if (God Frobid!) anything were ever to happen to Obama,I have MUCH more confidence in Biden than EVER I would have in Palin! OMG! Biden has been chair of foreign relations for years and knows his way around this world.Rest easy Brit, this team will do all it can to help the economy as well as restore the faith of the USA in other nations. I don't know you well enough to know how often you're right, (newbie here) but on Biden, you're dead wrong, sorry. Thanks for allowing me to comment.
^ He is a nice guy. But, I don't let nice guys fix my plumbing, let alone think he could be a commander in chief of the US. Sorry, disagree. But welcome to TD.
You leave the important stuff to a real pro like the other Joe do ya?Originally Posted by Jet Gorgon

But prefering Biden over Palin does not say much. I would chose Forrest Gump as VP over Palin for sure.
Not taken in a sexual context as that would be disturbing. . .Originally Posted by Jet Gorgon

But seriously, I don't get the analogy . . . a nice guy can't be a good plumber?
A nice guy can't be a good politician?
Mad Joe is at it again inspiring confidence wherever he goes.
“If we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, there’s still a 30 percent chance we’ll get it wrong,” he told the lawmakers at their policy retreat in Williamsburg, Va
. . . and honesty is refreshing . . . unlike lies and hyperbole the last eight years . . .
More evidence this bunch of losers in the WH has not a clue...

Update on Bozo the Veep:
By all accounts he did very well in Germany last week, but that doesn't fit into your views of things.
