You are blissfully unaware of the deep rooted conservatism in Thai society, strong military tradition and right-wing fascist tendencies?

The current Prime Minister is a staunch right-winger FFS.

We need only look as far as the ongoing civil war in the South to see how Thailand deals with the indigenous culture, traditions, language and people of that region.

Illusion of a democratic political process. Check.
Use of military force to intervene in political process. Check.
Prevalence of Uniformed officials in political office. Check.
Strong nationalistic sentiment among the populus. Check.
Excessive display and reverence for national symbols such as flags etc. Check.
Censorship of media. Check.
Large paramilitary forces ready to take up arms. Check.
Youth movements to 'educate' young persons and instil political and nationalistic doctrine. Check.
Figurehead that is revered and obeyed without question. Check.
Use of gangs of thugs to enforce political will and discourage dissenters. Check.
Use of the education system to suppress self-expression and encourage nationalist sentiment. Check.

Just ask them whether one of them does in fact speak and understand enough Thai to listen what their early morning after prayer sermons are in School ( M1 - M6). Maybe after comprehending that, they may qualify to comment!

In fact, Hitler seemed quite a progressive and forward looking chap at the beginning, building nice roads and cars for the people

I think the comparison suffers if you try to compare the later years; I don't think the holocaust could be compared to stuffing people in a truck, once, by some army fools, as opposed to doing similar acts thousands of times with the intention of killing all the occupants

Fair points. Everything is obviously about degrees and frequency. However, that famous Thai female pathologist estimates there are at least 1000 "mysterious deaths" every year in Thailand. Those are people who turn up dead and whose circumstances are simply never investigated by the police. Perhaps a dozen Thais out of the entire 60 million are disturbed by this.

They do not take kindly to drug-pushers and Islam extremists in Thailand. Why waste precious resources on feeding criminals, when one knows they are guilty of the most harrendous of crimes?

Sure, almost all of them had identical envelopes of speed pills shoved in their pockets at angles that are inconsistent with them having put them there by themselves.

Malleable farang dupes always fit in well and inevitably become apologists.

So, they have all been framed, no drug-pushers in Thailand? How many times have you visited? There are pushers in every tourist resort. We do the best for our children, and they are seduced to becoming addicts while on vacation. Kudos to the Thai government and police for countering these mafia profiteers.
