President Bush's term is mercifully coming to an end in a few months. Although his handler's mistakes were numerous and the painful consequences will be felt by all for years to come I was wondering if he did anything wise or even semi-competent during his tenure? Sure, it would be easy (and lengthy) to list his foibles but what did he and his administrators get right?
The only thing that springs to mind is his attempt to create a temporary work permit program for the illegals (read: Mexicans) in the U.S. I think it was a great idea but the more radical elements of his party shot it down fairly quickly.
Can anyone else think of anything he did/supported over the past 7 years that was beneficial to America?
