Ever consider the possibility that it's YOU?
Nah, didn't think so.

Can you really believe that an entire nation and its leadership would take so lightly such a mass execution of people? That is nonsenical. Any nation of decent people would think long and hard before dropping 'the bomb.'Quote:
we never batted an eye
Pure inciting, hateful hyperbole. It taints everything else that may have merit in the man's quote and in your subscription to such quote.
weren't americans literally dancing in the streets days after the bombs were dropped?
Yes often, but when discussing later with others the concensus was always the same. Yanks think they are bigger, better, faster, higher and holier than you. Period.Quote:

Hundreds of innocent people illegally imprisoned in wire cages for years before being released without charge. Something that is unlawful on US soil and something that is unlawful for the US to do to its own citizens.
And some Americans here are actually proud of it! Now they want to sell joke souvenirs making lite of such criminal activities. Says a lot about the attitudes of some US "patriots" towards citizens of other countries, including their allies.
Is it any wonder normal people around the world have a low opinion of Americans in general?
I have a low opinion of posters who can't read.
They're not jokes.

"I'm going to make a suggestion the giftshop add swim masks and snorkels to their souviner lineup."

Yea mate, I can read allright.
The souvieners are not jokes ... numbnuts. They're normal coffee mugs and T-shirts.

You think that's normal?
And you guys wonder why people find your attitudes offensive.
Idea for a quick, grubby Buck (hey your leaders have made money from this 'War', hand over fist, why shouldn't you) :) :-
'I got wired at Abu Ghraib" Mugs n' T shirts
"Baghram- it's gone to the dogs" Mugs
CIA Mystery holidays- we guarantee you'll never be the same
I suppose the humour might be a little more, well, humorous if:-
There were WMD's
Saddam had something to do with 911
A member of one, single politicians family had served in Iraq
One single senior Politician had not made money from it, hand over fist
One single senior politician offered to donate the profit he made from the war (they were already rich) to assist victims of the war
Hey, now thats an idea- why don't you ask them? Y'know, moral leadership, leadership by example, sharing the sacrifice and all that.
We truly live in the age of hypocricy, so much so that people hardly bother hiding it any more.
I too worked in the twin towers and lost friends on 9/11, do you want their names? I was in New York on 9/11 and for 4 years after that, I can tell you from experience that the press( New York post, Daily news) printed all those pictures that you find offensive, your arrogance is comical, The attacks on 9/11 were a tragedy, all the innocent lives lost by the hands of the USA is also a tragedy but on a much bigger scale(over 90,000).Quote:

And some among us think its a big joke as they sit in their comfy lounge chair and sip coffee. Every American who believes in the principles their country purports to expound should feel a deep sense of shame at Guantanamo Bay.
I love it!
I might go there on vacation. I hear the beaches are beautiful. Wanna come? Of course you'll have to sit outside while I go in and do some shopping.
And they said Americans couldn't go to Cuba. Ha!
The cheap A/C rooms and bowling alley/theater sound nice.
I really want to get a video of a waterboarding. I could put it on YouTube and become famous! Maybe we can poke the prisoners with sticks through the fence. :pokey:
Come on! It'll be a hoot! :usa:
Umm, I was talking about Buadhai actually.Quote:

Hiroshima & Nagasaki:
The Potsdam Ultimatum was issued by the US and the Allies. Japan was told to surrender. Period. They refused.
More Japanese died in the firebombings than because of both a-bombs.
The Japanese deserved what they got. Actually, they deserved a LOT worse than they got. They did horrific things. They were allowed to rebuild.
I agree 100% Milkman. The Japanese bought their fate when they refused to surrender.
I do not know how Hiroshima & Nagasaki fit into any of this at all.
If it were intended for mass distribution or to an audience outside the military I might agree. But it ain't. It's in the Shoppette. Do you know what those are?Quote:
pop-culture statement
It's a Quicki-Mart FFS available only to GIs -- on the base.
Should they ban coffee cups at GITMO cause some bleeding-heart wankstain from England thinks its outrageous? Fuck no. He was probably irritated that he couldn't buy one. :)
Absolutely, Marmers.
I had lived in Thailand 4 days before it happened. A handful of us (all Brits) watched the coverage on a big screen TV in a new bar and there was not a word spoken. A couple of us cried.
To belittle us Brits in the way that has happened in this thread is unfortunate & uncalled for. As for the Gitmo souvenirs - very tacky, stupid & ill thought out. But so are Torremelinos donkeys.
A few, I'm convinced, are exceptions.
The majority would not likely agree with you. Especially when they consider the attack in retrospect. :(
I too find this whole gitmo souvenir thing very crass, and would expect the same condemnation if brit or nations were selling similar.
As for 9/11, I dont know a single person who whooped and hollered in support of such an act. They were all equally as shocked as me, and felt sick to their stomachs. What made the occasion even worse was seeing all the emergency services going in and most not comeing out.
This whole "colonial" name calling is so boring. It happened long before my time, and has no impact on my life what so ever.
Possibly, especially when you see absurdities like the the mess in Iraq and the Gitmo gift shop.Quote:

Virtually all those who died were innocent civilians including women and kids. Holding them responsible for war crimes committed by the military is a purely emotive justification.
^
Get a clue. It ended the war that much faster and saved thousands of Allied lives. Not to mention me old boy who was being held captive by the Japs at the time...:bunny3:
First, I apologise to all for blowing my top about 9-11. It's a bladdy wound that won't heal in me.
I am not offended; I am incensed when anyone is killed in war or by any other means. What do you think would happen if the US just closed up shop and left the Iraqis to fend for themselves? How about the Kurds? The Shia and Sunni have split into so many factions, they are killing each other off already. Iran could sure use some of Iraq's oil fields. And who would send aid? Please give me your end scenario to a complete US pullout.
To celebrate Hirohito's fekin surrender and the end of war with Japan.
No, and don't forget lots of terrorist groups are over there killing their own people.
Did I say Brits? NO. I said Euro people. Guess I should have said the Swiss and Germans in the bar where I was watching the news.
Another point is that, while the US is publically going to war, many of its people are also funding other countries and missions, including I would bet the Palestinians. Do I have proof? No, coz it's secret. But, check out Charles Wilson's work aiding Afghanistan. The US and many other Allies do alot of covert ops. To think otherwise is nonsense, IMO.
It was I that mentioned Brits.
As I have said in the past, when I am wrong I can admit it.
I offer my apology at this time. Over the top I was.....
^ Do Brits ever apologise? Just asking.
Under the geneva conventions it is a war crime to target innocent civilians.
But who takes the victors to court?
I'm not apologizing to anyone.
Many wank Brits on this board got a burr in their saddle about America, and it ain't just GITMO. They're obsessive. Every thread, whether it be a cyclone in Myanmar or a food review -- they gotta get their digs in.
Fuck 'em.
A few others are OK.
you've got some serious issues...and anger management seems to be chief among them.Quote:
