If you have an authentic, legal copy of XP, and it is out, you can upgrade normally. I have my XP set up to notify me every time there is an update, and I can decide what I wish to download. Can't remember if SP3 is already out, but I have already updated everything, except the latest IE, which I can't stand and Never use, so I don't bother with it.
