    My president predictions...

Coming from Missoura, land of the hicks, here is my prediction.

    John McCain

    Why?

Most of America will still not want a woman or a black man in charge.

But a POW and a white man?

(I don't agree, but this is what I see happening)

This what I think! Now, what do you think?

I agree. The only problem I see with JMC is his age. Hopefully he will pick a good vice president. Maybe someone like retired General Colin Powell.

IMO democrates just don't cut it.

Yep, HB. I've been rooting all along for McCain. The Dems are screwed anyway as there apparently aren't enough votes left to give either one the majority. Fekin morons.

Dems stabbed themselves in the cajones with the Florida, Michigan mess. Can't even follow their own rules.....WTF

Aha, Hillary says McCain is a better choice for CinC so where the flock does that leave her. She will rue the day she made that comment.

No dog in this fight until they decide who's fighting.

I've got no insight, other that in a tight call the populace tends to swing 'conservative'. This is not an American thing, but obviously favours Mccain.

However, the incumbent Republicans have been an absolutely disastrous administration. I can think of none worse during my lifetime.

For this reason alone, I want them ousted. They should pay. I would be impressed with an America that votes in Obama.

that's the way i feel too.

he appears to me to be the most honest of the lot.

he is seriously eloquent and would garner world respect for that reason alone after 8 years of mumbled offerings.

If America were to elect a young black man over a 71 year old conservative, I think most of the world would be impressed.

^ Agree with Sabang... I would love to see Obama win but realistically I can only see some scaremongering and smear campaigns by the Republicans that will turn the undecided voters to vote for McCain....

the biggest problem McC faces is not the Demos, but trying to find enough support from within his own party. If he can achieve that, he stands a fair chance.

I don't mind is BO wins, but please, please, please America don't let it be Clinton.

EG is right about Hilde's comment on McC being a better CIC. Now she's got the NY guv scandal. Then her campaign chick Ferraro (ex VP nominee) throws a racial slur in there about Obama. If Hilde isn't sticking her foot in it, she's got lots of backers doing it for her.
This race is so hillarious. But, the press is so glued to the Dems that we never hear about McCain. Or did he die already?

MacCain doesn't have a chance, the right wing loonies will rather see him die than making it to the WH, he has ennemies on both front, and is not a uniter

but yeah, the real question is "are they ready for a blackman or a strong lady" ? tough choice, I think the blackman has a better chance

If the Democratic party doesn't self destruct through this war between Clinton and Obama, they have a very good chance of defeating McCain, with either candidate.

The incumbent President and his party are always punished when the economy is in the doldrums, and when an unpopular war is being fought.

My prediction is that Obama will get the Nod, and if the party isn't too fractured, he'll win the general election against McCain.

I think he would be a breath of fresh air for the US and its perceptions abroad.

I said it before. Bambi will likely get snuffed. Look at the Clinton's record on accidental deaths of associates.

second guessing the minds of a huge electorate who would vote in GW Bush not once but twice is not an easy thing to do.

O.K., let's role play for a minute. Imagine you're a young, semi-literate Muslim living anywhere in the Middle East, looking at Al Qaeda recruitment pamphlets portraying the evil Americans. One pamphlet shows a crusty old man who says he wants to fight Islamic terrorists for 100 years and follow them to the gates of hell. The second one shows an affable, young man of color with the middle name of Hussein who says the war in Iraq was a mistake. Which pamphlet is most likely to cause you to join Al Qaeda? Al Qaeda is praying for McCain to win so that he can bleed America white with more stupid land wars. Al Qaeda fears the apathy of the average Muslim a lot more than they fear death.

    I see your point, BH.

But....the statistical polling is showing (so far) that race and gender (to some degree) is being crossed, as Obama is getting certain demographics of the white vote.

Will it be the same for the actual Presidential election in November?

We'll have to wait and see.

And IMO, McCain should not be given any credit for being a POW. That was 35+ years ago.

    My prediction: I honestly.....

    Don't know.

    Noboday does right now.

^^As long as there are dumb, poor Pakis eating dirt soup and schlepping shit around the dusty village on a push cart, Al Qaeda will fill its ranks. You really believe a villager in a far-flung village in the hills of Pakistan gives a toss about US politics?

I'd bet that if I walked into my village here in Thailand today and asked 100 people on the street who these people are in the photo (Hilde, Obama, McCain) less than 5% would know anything about any of them. The 5 that had any clue would only recognize Hilde.

^^^I think the Clintons are waging a clever, historical, underhanded and unprecedented propaganda war right now on the race issue. I think they are attempting to polarize the white vote in her favor, thereby demonstrating to the Super delegates that Obama could not win the white vote against McCain, and therefore would lose against McCain in the general election.

Looks as if McCain - absolutely annihilates clinton head to head. Then is a bit ahead of Obama. BTW Obama is coke head, snorted it and dealed it. Also rumored to took one up the arse, according to a former bf.

They all know who Bush is. And if Obama wins, he is far too smart to swat the hornets nest like Bush did. In-your-face military aggression by the West is red meat for these guys.
