About the same the the people realise they can no longer afford it.

^^^ atleast he is not in denial about what some extreamist muslims would do if given the chance !!!
what about yourself ???

I must say however the Iraq invasion would have been a real coup for the Neo-Cons and the "New American Century" had they been able to pull it off according to plan.
I guess they are just trying to salvage the best deal out of the available options now. Installing an elected government was a pretty dumb thing to do when you are trying to screw a country.
Some interesting stuff here from a former FBI interrogator interviewed by Foreign Policy Magazine ("Jack Cloonan spent 25 years as an FBI special agent and interrogated members of al Qaeda during the late 1990s. He is now president of Clayton Consultants, a global risk and crisis management company.)" He says that while waterboarding does work it's counterproductive as the USA's image as a state which tortures encourages people to fight against it. He says the same results which are achieved by waterboarding can be achieved by standard interrogation techniques without producing negative publicity or providing recruiting aids for Jihadis.

Soldiers Find Al-Qaida Torture House
by Staff
A U.S. Army unit discovered what appears to be an abandoned al-Qaida torture house six miles from Baghdad in Iraq.
Lt. Col. Mark Solomon told The Boston Herald that the house was equipped with handcuffs attached to the floor and to a window and hooks on the walls. He said his squadron also found material used to train terrorists.
"It has certainly given us a window into the world of the enemy in a very real way," he said in an interview via satellite telephone.
"The house had been abandoned," Solomon said. He described it as being one of three houses in a compound tucked away in a remote area.
"It makes you feel good to have found it and denied the enemy the ability to use it anymore," Solomon said.
His troops began searching for the compound after hearing stories from local residents of a house that had been used for torture.

Take all the rope in Texas

Hang them high in the street for all the people to see

How soon we forget Abu Ghraib. Only discovered by some smuggled photographs and exposed in the media by the way.
Arnt these kinds of inhumane treatments the kinds of things we are supposed to be fighting against?
The tit for tat argument doesn't hold water in a civilized society.
there aint tit for shit. they do the real deal when it comes to torture and you know it. please explain why every prisoner in gitmo has gained weight as in better health than whe he arrived if they are treated so badly??? The fukin soldiers guarding the prison were living in worse conditions than the prisoners for the longest time-- sorry you argument does not hold water !!!

you mean they are happy being held in those wire cages for years and years on end ?
Answer the question Panda. If its a fact these prisoners are gaining weight...what gives. You figure its water weight? Or are you just another delusional fuckstick standing on a soapbox out in an empty field screaming for the sake of screaming -- hoping it might change the course of events?
Ever consider accepting the fact that the US and the UN will do what is legal within the framework of the world body and there's fuck-all you can do about it?
ever thought about that?
Ever wondered why the fire-breathing devil GWB hasn't been tried for illegal or immoral acts toward prisoners? Do you have an answer for it?
I do. Most countries do the same and aren't against it.
FO.
If it's so goddamn reprehensible, surely your morally superior country has condemned the behavior. Right? Maybe? Maybe not. Check yourself before you stand out in the open and start throwing barbs.
I think you probably stink like fish.

Bleeding heart teacherous liberals!!!!
I hate you scum.
There are many videos on the web showing the Islamic scum joyously jumping on a bound and helpless man and taking great delight on sawing off his head.
Or hiding behind women and children as they snipe and kill american soldiers .
Wake up you brain dead traitors---this is war for the salvation of humanity and our methods are far less barbaric that thiers---Anyone ever seen film of 6 brave coalition troops excitedlty beheading one odf these undoubted muslim scum?
Does anyone disagree that Muslim terrorists are brutal savages?
Actually, H2Oboarding is catching on with a lot of folks these days...

That's about it in a nutshell. Why does the USA do these immoral things. Basically because they can. Acting like the schoolyard bully ain't no way to win hearts and minds, but I guess the right wing psychopaths don't care much about their image.
The kind of attitude shown by current US government is the best recruitment strategy, handed to Al Qaeda on a plate, they could wish for.
I really don't care if the Yanks want to keep digging their hole deeper, but they are dragging their allies into their mess.

No but how many reports does one read of Americans killing suspected insurgents. As Panda says, indirectly, this method of war recruits muslims agains the west.Originally Posted by paulsmithson

lets see, firing upon our troops, straping bombs to themselves and planting IED's. seems like a insurgent to me but no uniform so they SUSPECT they are insurgents !!!
Brits are killing suspected insurgents too. It ain't just the big bad US. In fact young Harold reportedly had a personal, direct link in killing 30 of 'em.
THIRTY.
You suppose they ID'd all of 'em and matched their birth certificates with passports and background checks on all of 'em before Harold called in that RAF fighter to dump a 1,000 pound bomb down their chimney?
gomer pyle-----hey sarge,do ya think thats the enemy
srgt carter--- I don't know gomer--lets wait till he is done shooting at us and we can walk over and ask him !!
gomer pyle--- what about that women walking towards us with the C-4 straped to her vest????
srgt carter--- well pyle, C-4 vest's seem to be the latest fasion among the INSURGENTS latley, but lets wait till she gets here and we can ask her , just to be sure !!!
gomer pyle--- hey sarge, why do ya think that guy is digging a hole and putting explosives in it?? do ya think he is the enemy????

Hey Kid I gotta tell ya buddy, that didn't paint us in the best light possible...
But really I hate to say this but RC leaves and Panda shows up??It's WWF tag team these days quite well coordinated I might add..
And lest we not forget Iraqi troops and both Sunni and Shia militia I might add...Originally Posted by Texpat

Yeah, RC's not clever enough to toggle between his schizophrenic usernames.
Hi Ray!![]()

I know KID, it's just that the opposition seizes every opp. to make such attacks on our intellect. This type of humorist sarcasm is lost on them..
I personally wasn't necessarily suggesting that Panda and RC were the same person though it still isn't out of the realm of possibility. I was just taking note of the almost 'military like' precision of their coordinated defensive posture..![]()
you boys seem pretty interested in me....and it's a little creepy...how many times has texpat or boon mee asked "where's ray?" over the last few weeks? strange.
anyway, no, I'm not Panda.
and water torture will be outlawed by the US govt within a few months....mccain, obama and clinton have all come out strongly against it.
sorry boys.
