I don't think Mr. Trump is a nice man. At times he has behaved badly. He's entitled to his day in court. That's not ridiculous. At least he's now not facing a court biased against him.

Just to set the record straight, Trump was convicted for sexual abuse towards Carrol. Further more it was two juries that found him guilty (first one sexual abuse, second one defamation). Defamation awards are designed to be punative particularly against someone who repated the defmation time and time again.

Just to set the record straighter, there was no 'conviction'. This was a civil dispute which do not result in convictions. They also have lower standards of evidence than a criminal case. i.e. balance of probability rather than beyond reasonable doubt

Spinning, in most other parts of the country he wouldn't have been found liable. The he said, she said cases can be finely balanced. I wouldn't want to be on the jury with this one.

Within the context of legal proceedings the term guilty has a specific meaning. It means you have been found to have broken the law in a criminal prosecution.

The burden of proof to be found criminally 'guilty' is much more onerous than that to be found legally liable in a civil dispute.

Guilty = Proven beyond reasonable doubt
Liable = In the opinion of peers or a judge, more likely than not, on the balance of probabilities

Trump has never been tried criminally so he is neither innocent nor guilty

He has never been tried criminally , because he bought and paid for SCOTUS, chocolate lips.

^SCOTUS are not involved in the decision to prosecute a criminal allegation, unless possibly if it were at the end of a long chain of appeals.

The initial decision to prosecute would be that of the relevant district criminal prosecution service at the state level and the trial would be a state trial at the district level.

It would first require that a criminal complaint be made to state police. I am not aware that E Jean Carroll has made such a complaint.

I repeat……… Donald J Trump, will NEVER be convicted of a felony crime
as long as he has SCOTUS in his back pocket.

^The only level at which SCOTUS could have any effect would be if a conviction were appealed many times up through various levels of court, which has not happened since no police complaint has been made with which to start a district level prosecution process.
