    Worry not.

I was concerned when I read how advanced the Trump acolytes were planning, not just insurrection, but detailed plans of what they want to do ‘when’ Trump wins.

Even quite reasonable voices from pro democrat media are seemingly shocked by Trumps latest tirade against Liz Cheney.

’This is not acceptable language in US political debate’. WTF, this is not acceptable language in any part of humanity. Fuck the political arena horror show. Tell it like it is. Everyone has got used to ignoring the many Trump excesses in political debate, and his supporters routinely excuse such conduct as exaggeration or ‘So what?’ comments!

Even the most staunch MAGA morons should not accept these comments, trying to dehumanize a fellow Republican, because she dared to disagree with him.
Trump has got away with this kind of rhetoric for too long, and his suggestion that Cheney faces a firing squad is a step too far.

Do not tolerate this failed z list celebrity any further!

Unfortunately the trailer trash that support him are too dumb to realise he's just using them. They love all this shit.

They're living proof that settlers mated with farm animals.

I think Trump's outrageous rhetoric appeals to many Americans. They share his anger against the establishment and the speech police. He's close to beating another establishment woman.

I need to sit down after that stunning revelation.

Maybe you should stick to trolling and pretend to be a trumpanzee?

Not at all. I find Trump's candidacy worrying on many levels. But I don't feel the visceral sense of revulsion that many feel about him.

One problem is that he is genuinely funny and entertaining and democracy is essentially a popularity contest and being funny is a way to be popular. Even if it does not translate to effective governance capabilities.

What does not destroy democracy makes it stronger. I think the institutions of American democracy will survive Trump and be strengthened by the stress test he is submitting them to.

I watched the Trump movie tonight. It is quite an interesting portrait of his rise as a media figure, focusing on his relationship with mentor Roy Cohn who is played very effectively by Jeremy String, the eldest of the successors in Succession.

Yes, in some respects Trump is great fun, but not in others. If he was half competent, he'd easily beat Harris. As a president, I see him as totally incompetent. Totally out of his depth. I don't think he's going to be re-elected.

^^ Just watched FOX "News" defend Looper's comments. Pathetic. Trump even got to call in.

A convicted felon, rapist, fascist, recist z list celebrity is not even remotely amusing.

You are welcome to point at him and laugh when he loses the election, and all his outstanding legal cases. That will be very amusing, and expensive!

Hitler did effectively destroy/cancel democracy in Germany after he was elected in 1933.

I don't think Trump is Orange Hitler. He is not an ideologically driven thinker. He may be a narcissistic oaf who craves the personal adulation of the trumpanzees to the extent that he is willing to push the boundaries of traditional political etiquette when it comes to transfer of power.

But, it is all about personal ego rather than about ideological belief and so I see it as more of a simple embarrassment to the West than a real danger to Western democracy.

Yes. A number of Trump's American political enemies might save themselves some grief by leaving the US before January if Trump wins tomorrow. Trump is already salivating at the thought of imprisoning his opponents without trial. Prince Harry and his missus are already preparing to leave.

Constantly invigorated by your self described nomadic lifestyle. At that time I was ensconced in a northern mining town, but we only had bazzoka Joe, girls in mini skirts and West Indian bus conductors.
My life of travel started much later.

Trump has been indecent with a microphone again while mentioning Pelosi. This dude is really weird. It will be good if he's in prison within the next year. Many people need a break from this craziness.

Whatever the result will be tomorrow- in 3 weeks or a month from now, when all the potential recounts/lawsuits are over, I hope that you yanks etc, will be able to celebrate your Thanks Giving together despite the "split decision", that is the only given so far.

Good luck and may the best candidate win.

Nah, she'll come in 3rd, so not much of a chance that I'll check in tomorrow for a bit of gloating.

That could be a very, very long programme. Any bets on the final decision date?

US election results are sometimes declared state-by-state within hours of the polls closing - meaning that we get a running tally as we go - but this year's tight contest could mean a longer wait.

When is the 2024 presidential election result expected?

The first polls close at 18:00 EST (23:00 GMT) on Tuesday evening and the last at 01:00 EST (06:00 GMT) early on Wednesday.
In some presidential races, the victor has been named late on election night, or early the next morning.
This time, the knife-edge race in many states could mean media outlets wait longer before projecting who has won.
Democratic Vice-President Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump, the former president, have been running neck-and-neck for weeks.
Narrow victories could also mean recounts.
In the key swing state of Pennsylvania, for example, a recount would be required if there’s a half-percentage-point difference between the votes cast for the winner and loser. In 2020, the margin was just over 1.1 percentage points.

Legal challenges are also possible. More than 100 pre-election lawsuits have already been filed, mostly by Republicans challenging voter eligibility and voter roll management.
Other scenarios that could cause delays include any election-related disorder, particularly at polling locations.

    God bless America.
    Shalom

Now, that Trump has (very likely) won, I can let you know some of the plans for his 2nd term. Trump will be declared god king fuherer for eternity. All arts exept MMA will be banned. All people with they/them pronouns can be hunted for sport. Thats all I can reveal for now.
