Perhaps there are more reasons to call the election early in July. The BOE will no doubt drop interest rates in August. Some mortgage holders win. Anyone relying on a UK work pension will get less, as Sterling drops.

Im sure there will be many reasons. In the end they will be replaced by Labour, so you probably don’t give a toss anyway.

And there was me thinking it was because Sunak thought it might not give Starmer enough time to mount a campaign.

How much more horrendous can it get?

Biden will be doing a interview on ABC at (I think) 7am Friday morning, Thai time.

But it's not live, so they might edit out the bits where he stops and drools.

Might be better to use a cardboard cut-out with a puppet master behind.

Unless he's going to do the honourable thing.

Forum wanker of the year Spamdreth should probably rename his sleepy joe thread to "Joe Biden: Former POTUS" because it's going to happen one way or the other.

Radio host resigns - asked questions to Biden that came from the president's staff

    OF
    Carsten Thomsen

An American radio host has resigned after admitting that in an interview with President Joe Biden, she asked a number of questions that she had received from Biden's staff.

The interview was the first that Joe Biden gave after the TV debate against Donald Trump the other day, writes The Guardian.

Radio station WURD states that the interview, arranged by radio host Andrea Lawful-Sanders, "violated the station's editorial independence by accepting questions from Biden's staff."

German Chancellor: I'm not worried about Joe Biden's healt

    OF
    Rasmus Jungersen

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is not worried about the health of US President Joe Biden.

The heads of state and government of the 32 NATO countries will meet this week for a summit in Washington. At the meeting, they will also celebrate the alliance's 75th anniversary.

"From the many conversations I have had with the American president, I know that he has prepared very well and accurately for this summit with us," Scholz said, according to Reuters.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well if Olaf says so, we'd better believe it

The Dem leadership in Congress is rallying around the Biden flag stating they fully support Joe. Going forward Joe must avoid another "moment" to keep that support. Can he? A wait and see thing.

The good news is Trump has been uncharacteristically silent as he watches the Dems play out this drama.

Joe might be old and a bit doddery but he has a very competent administration as can be seen by the progress in the last 3 years even with such a recalcitrant congress.

Biden introduces Zelensky as ‘President Putin’ in major gaffe
US president’s aides working on plan to convince him to step down after latest high-profile slip at Nato summit

Joe Biden referred to Volodymyr Zelensky as “President Putin” in front of almost two dozen world leaders on Thursday night, in a significant gaffe that will worsen the crisis engulfing his presidency.

The US president, who is facing calls to stand down over concerns about his age, confused the Ukrainian president with the Russian leader in a speech at the Nato summit in Washington DC.

Mr Biden spoke for several minutes about the importance of protecting Ukraine from Russian aggression, before turning to Mr Zelensky and introducing him by the wrong name.

“Now, I want to hand over to the President of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination,” he said. “Ladies and gentlemen: President Putin.”

macron in france, the kneeler in the uk, biden and trump in the usa ..... xi, putin and the ragheads are rubbing their hands in glee at the thought of what is to come.
