You and your Dad are on the right track.

Some years ago Landreth called me a c,unt for the same reasoning.

"You are voting for Trump if you aren't voting for Biden"

How's your poll expert, Landreath ?

As is his right, however he can't complain about the outcome for him or his children. or childrens children

I have always voted, sometimes felt the same as your dad but it was always driven home to me that people died for the right to vote and we were lucky to have that right when our forebears and many countries did not.

In the UK I feel we face similar challenges, politics gloabally seems like its being driven by self interest by individuals. I grew up with politicians who i may not agree with but who for the most part were there to serve, nowadays they feel like a bunch of pigs waiting for their turn at the trough.

I hope for change and a return to tje ethos of public service but fear things are going to deteriorate further when you look at the current crops of pigs.

Doubt that they died for the duty to vote.

Stumpy shouldn't feel obliged to vote for anything on the buffet, if he doesn't like it.

When you vote for someone, you endorse him/her.

He could have voted in the primary though, which I doubt he did.

And he could have chosen not to, which so far is his right

I wouldn't personally vote for RFK Jr, but he does seem to be the somewhat sane alternative

Whatever are the Democrats doing electing Biden to represent them. Watching him vs Trump was an embarrassment. They need to replace him with anyone that can function properly, preferably under 60 and they will beat Trump.
    Surely there's someone more capable.

Exactly right. When you vote for a candidate it's because you support their integrity, values, capabilities, actions they plan to put in play etc. Just because you have the right to vote doesn't mean you have to pick the lesser of 2 evils.

Biden won his first term because people hated Trump more. Fast forward here we are again. The idea of voting is not to keep another candidate out. So the voting public has to pick between 2 poor candidates. In general I think Biden is a genuine type person but the fact is, he is just to damn old. Trump is a piece of shit scum bag human being.

Anyway, the debate showed us that neither are viable candidates.

    This!!

With the privilege of having the right to vote comes a moral obligation to do it, the least you should do is show up and file a blank vote or a vote on Donald Duck.

The New York Times Editorial Board has called for Joe Biden to exit the 2024 presidential race following his weak debate performance against Donald Trump.

The editorial comes after the president appeared frail during the Thursday evening debate. His voice was soft and raspy, which his campaign attributed to a cold. He also interrupted himself and gave rambling answers to multiple questions. Vice President Kamala Harris even admitted Biden struggled: “Yes, it was a slow start,” she said Thursday. “That’s obvious to everyone.”

“The president appeared on Thursday night as the shadow of a great public servant,” the board wrote on Friday night. “He struggled to explain what he would accomplish in a second term.

“He struggled to respond to Mr. Trump’s provocations,” the board continued. “He struggled to hold Mr. Trump accountable for his lies, his failures and his chilling plans. More than once, he struggled to make it to the end of a sentence.”

While the editorial board said Biden would be their “unequivocal” pick over Trump, they called on the Democratic party to put forward a new candidate.

“The clearest path for Democrats to defeat a candidate defined by his lies is to deal truthfully with the American public: acknowledge that Mr. Biden can’t continue his race, and create a process to select someone more capable to stand in his place to defeat Mr. Trump in November,” the Board wrote.

“It is the best chance to protect the soul of the nation — the cause that drew Mr. Biden to run for the presidency in 2019 — from the malign warping of Mr. Trump.”

The president’s performance has since sent Democrats into “panic mode.”

“The expectations for Joe Biden were low, but he didn’t come close to meeting them,” one Democratic strategist told The Independent.

It’s not that simple, especially if Biden does not go gentle into that good night.

    Just a moment...

Personally, I don’t think he’s going to stand in the way. It’s too important of an election, and I think he, and his people know there’s no coming back from what happened last night.

My choice would be Rep. Jamie Raskin.

Don't know why this has caused so much wailing and gnashing of teeth

People already know which candidate they preferred

The debate was just a performance

Yes biden was not Muhammad Ali , but he did give good answers to rational questions, but was not good at getting into the sewer that is trump's world

The maga nutters will vote trump no matter what and all other rational people will vote biden

Trump did say that the immigrants are all taking the black and Latino jobs which has registered in those communities, and they know exactly what he meant

Wi-Fi causes cancer and "leaky brain," Kennedy told podcaster Joe Rogan last month.
Antidepressants are to blame for school shootings, he mused during an appearance with Twitter CEO Elon Musk.
Chemicals in the water supply could turn children transgender, he told right-wing Canadian psychologist and podcaster Jordan Peterson, echoing a false assertion made by serial fabulist Alex Jones.
AIDS may not be caused by HIV, he has suggested multiple times.

Both candidates are unsuitable for any number of reasons.

Voting for Trump or Biden becomes a protest vote, just to stop the other one being elected.

According to news reports, Biden wishes to continue. Whlile that may be unwise, it could prevent Trump from being elected.

If Biden does continue, more people will decide to vote for Trump as a protest vote. Neither are outstanding choices, but one of them could still become president by default.

What happens if both of them are removed? The USA electorate will still have a choice. The Republican and Democratic conventions should both choose an alternative candididate.

It seems unlikely to happen that way because both conventions desperately want to win at any cost! Corruption wins!

Because there are a large swathe of voters not affiliated to either party and both candidates are fighting to swing their vote.

11 days until Trump's sentenced. He has no remorse, was extremely disrespectful to the court and a deterrent sentence seems necessary. Lock the orange turd up.

They're called Swing voters, and they represent up to 6% of the electorate, which is critical in Swing states.

And the majority of them will have been put off voting for Biden.

Traditionally the Democrats benefit from a high turn out, so voters not bothering to cast a ballot hurts them more than it hurts the orange turd.
